Another Fantasy Baseball Keeper thread

Got a keeper question of my own.... AL-only league where we can keep whoever we want, but add $5 to what we paid for them last year (max $240 for 20 players). Here are the players I can keep along with the dollar value for this coming season ($5 already added).

Cust: $10 <-- status?
Youklis: $6 <--status?
Mora: $11 <-- yep
Dye: $25 <--nope
J. Jones: $18 <--??
R. White: $15 <--??
Kielty: $6 <--status??
A. Sanchez: $21 <--??
Eckstein: $12 <--??
Crede: $11 <--??
B. Roberts: $6 <--??
C. Pena: $15 <--??
Durazo: $15 <--??
T. Hall: $16 <--??
R. Franklin: $6 <--??
A. Lopez: $6 <--??
Contreras: $15 <--yes
Lohse: $6 <--yes

As you can see, I haven't made a lot of decisions... Some of these guys are right on the edge of being sure keepers, others I don't know what the teams plan to do with them (Youklis..). However, whenever I think "Oh I can get him back for about the price anyway", they end up going for more and I end up with the John Burketts and Terrance Longs on my roster...

Can you tell I did not win last year? :D My keepers are due in the next couple of days, so any help is very much appreciated.

Hmm, I don't have much experience with AL only leagues, so it's hard for me to judge exactly how shallow the talent really gets. How many teams are in the league?

I guess if you figure you need to average around $12 per player, then Mora, Durazo, Contreras, and Lohse look like good keepers. After that, I'm not overly impressed with anybody else. Sure guys like Youklis, Kielty and Cust are somewhat cheap, but I don't know that you want to waste roster spots on bench guys that might not get 100 ABs this year.

Yeah I tried taking a stab at this when you posted it in the other thread, but realized I have previously stunk at these "Virtual GM" games where you buy players, plus I've never played AL or NL only. Rondell White may be worth keeping, but I have no idea if $15 is overpriced.

I'd probably go with No on Ryan Franklin just because you can't be 100% sure if he will be starting.

I don't think that Youkilis will start the year with the Red Sox. He did very poorly in limited time at AAA. Even if he was ready, there doesn't seem to be that much available playing time for him at 3B or 1B.
