I have never heard of a bid process, and I have noticed that there are many venues that never get it? When will it come to Seattle or Green Bay, or Detroit, etc.?

Its going to be held in Detroit. But there is no chance in hell it would be in Green Bay. CEOs dont want to watch a game in the cold.

Bids are made and owners vote. 75% of the owners need to vote Yes when picking a site.
Washington and NY have submitted bids for future Super Bowls but I doubt either will ever get it if they continue to play in outdoor venues.

The process is voted on by NFL owners. Im not sure what demands have to be met to get consideration, but Houston was promised a Superbowl when they got a team.

Not only would the cold/snow of an outdoor Super Bowl in Green Bay make it unlikely, the NFLs smallest city would have a hard time handling all the media and fans of the big game (hotels, parking, security, etc)

There are some cities that are always going to get it (Miami, New Orleans, San Diego) repeatedly, because those are places people love to go in late Jan/early Feb. Miami's going to have their 9th (10th?) Super Bowl in a few years.

I figured that, but could there possibly ever be a game in which it wasn't a sell out? I can't imagine.
Come to Seattle, darnitall

I can't imagine ever NOT having a sellout. They could hold it at a 150,000 seat stadium, and still have scalpers out front.

Of course it'd be a sellout. But given a choice, if you're the NFL, would you like to spend a couple of weeks in Miami (average January high: 77; average January low: 59), or Seattle (average January high: 46; average January low: 36)? :)

exactly, what are the chances that teams like San Diego, Houston, New Orleans and Miami ;) are going to be making it to the superbowl anytime soon. The NFL doesn't want to gave the teams playing in the SB any unfair advantage. :)

I wish they would have a Super Bowl here in Charlotte. We have a nice stadium. I just wish we could have one so i can check out all Super Bowl hoo-la and not have to travel to do it. (yes, I am lazy :) )

Living in Houston I have to say it was fun to have a Super Bowl here, but I am in no hurry to have one here again. I never realized how crazy it would get during the week of Super Bowl.
