The Big Bounce- Is anyone actually looking forward to this?

It looks very bad, in my opinion. The previews seem to try to be making me laugh, but they definitely don't. Is there an actual plot? From the commercials, I'd never know it. And that really bad overdub of the house cleaning lady saying "Get a room" is getting on my nerves, because it's included in every single t.v. spot. I think it's gonna bomb. What are your thoughts on it?

I heard a rumer that the DVD is already set to come out in April. If that's true the studio must not have a lot of confidence in it.

I think it looks like it could be funny. Whether it is or not is yet to be seen. I'll wait for DVD.

Based on Elmore Leonard's novel with an excellent cast! Though, I won't see this unless the reviews are good...so who knows...

It has a good cast, could be good, but it doesn't look that good from what I've seen so far. Which is too bad. What is going on with Morgan Freeman? This man was on fire for the longest time, but lately he has been in dud after dud. This one just can't be as bad as Dreamcatcher, it just can't be.

I saw a screening of it a few months ago. It was supposed to be released much earlier but poor testing delayed it's release so it could be re-edited. The movie pretty much boils down to this:

Spoiler:
A shot of people surfing.

A shot of a sexy girl in a skimpy bikini walking on a beach.

A shot of a drive-by shooting in the middle of the night.

And some sort of random character interaction that pretty much boils down to 2 people about to have sex.

Avoid it like the plague.

I'm guessing there's a reason they dumped it in January.

Good cast working with material from a very reliable source (Leonard). However, that said, I do not think it looks all that good.

Leonard has already disowned it.

I read that he walked out of the original after only fifteen minutes. I was hoping this might be good, but there hasn't been much positive feedback.

I've loved Armitage's other films (Gross Pointe Blank and Miami Blues). If the reviews are attrocious then I'll steer clear, but so far the director can do no wrong in my book

I read the novel & to say it's LOOSELY based on the novel is an understatement. The movie looks to be NOTHING like the novel at all.

Mrs. Pusser is interested because it has Owen Wilson starring and has an Elmore Leonard connection.

The main female lead (I believe her name is Sara Foster) is beautiful. I checked her out on imdb.com, and this is her first credited film role.
