OZ: Season 3 (HBO) ?

It seems as if Season 2 came out 2-3 years ago.

Are the other seasons ever comming out on DVD? Sorry if this topic came up before but you can't search for "OZ" as it's only 2 letters.

Thanks. I wonder why it took 3 years!

I think season 2 came out January 2003 if i'm not mistaken? Yes I know the wait seemed like 2-3 years (what a great show!)

I remember reading somewhere that season 4 will be coming out in October. Not confirmed though.

No season 2 was definitley 2002 or 2001. I've been keeping up with the Sopranos and Sex in the City seasons as they come out about once a year. I've been through 2-3 new sopranos boxed sets since I've seen an update to OZ.

Oz Season 2 was released January 2003. I specifically remember so because my sister was wanted to get it for me for Christmas last year but couldn't get it until a week or two after. Confirmed by the listing on Amazon.com.

That's absolutely right. I had it pre-ordered and picked it up on the release day, Jan. 7, 2003.

I'm looking forward to OZ season 3 on 2/24. A great show. Definitely shows you why it's a good idea to stay out of prison.

On the related subject of cop shows, I just finished watching season 2 of The Shield, and that is the best police series I've ever seen. It's going to be a long wait for season 3.

Okay - FYI of HBO sets in case you haven't noticed the pattern. HBO almost RELIGOUSLY releases a season a year for its shows. The only exception so far has been Sex and the City. OZ: Season 2 came out 1/03. S3 comes out 2/04. Wherever did you come up with three years?! I guess because the seasons are so short it felt that long...

One would hope they'd speed it up a bit. I really don't want to wait 4 more years to complete collecting this series!

There was definitely a thread a few months ago that had a confirmation of season 4 coming out in the September-November range.

Oz S4 will be 10/05/04, according to www.tomfontana.com.

Going back to S1 and S2. I must be the only person who felt this way upon viewing those two seasons. S1 was absolutely brilliant, but I thought there was a serious dropoff in S2. The stories in S2 just seemed silly and trite.
Spoiler:
Ryan O'Reilly with breast cancer, the guy who kept saying Broom Tree Street or whatever it was to Sister Marie, Adabisi and his spiritual awakening.
It all just seemed forced and ridiculous in S2.

So a question for those of you who have seen it. Is S3 better or worse than S1 and/or S2?

Correct you are. Well I knew it had been over a year. Perhaps it was the fact that I began watching all of the HBO DVDs at around the same time, and at that time the other HBO series must have already had 3-4 seasons out on DVD at the time so I was able to "catch up" relatively quickly.

otmetrud, I felt the same way when I watched them on dvd as they were released, then I just watched both seasons again this past weekend and actually thoguth season2 was great as well, now that oyu have almost a month to wait for season 3, i say you should do the same, it really made me enjoy season 2 alot more, and confirmed that this and the Shield are the best shows on television ever
