No, not an easy choice. I'm torn between The Mirror and Stalker.
Stalker was an extraordinary experience upon first viewing. But The Mirror, while quite opaque initially fell into an exquisite rhythm I had not seen before, and I feel the need for another viewing in order to fully process it. So I'll vote for Stalker, for now.
If we were talking best Tarkovsky sequence, then no doubt it's the bell-casting segment of Andrei Rublev.
And I highly recommend (if you can find it) Chris Marker's exploration of Tarkovsky "One Day in the Life Andrei Arsenevich".

IMO
(1)Andrei Rublev
(2)The Sacrifice
(3)Solaris
(4)Stalker
(5)Nostalghia
(6)The Mirror
(7)Ivan's Childhood
They are all great and 1-4 are 5-star classics but Rublev I think is in a class by itself.

I just watched Stalker this morning and loved it. I've been meaning to pick up Solaris, but what movie of his would any of you recomend next based on my feelings about Stalker?
