How much would you pay for this?

I am sitting at work and the girl beside me was telling me how her boyfriend is getting his XBOX modded and is playing his dreamcast in the meantime. So, I still regret the day that I sold my dreamcast about 2 years ago and wouldnt mind picking one up. She said once he gets his xbox back, he probably wont touch the dreamcast again.

So, she says he would probably sell me the Dreamcast and games. He has about 30 games, but not all of them are originals. I was just wondering what would be a good offer price for a dreamcast + 30 games (some original, some burned). Also inmcluded might be an extra controller and 1 or 2 memory cards.

so how much do you think I could purchase the whole lot for. By the way, this will be in cdn funds. (no canadian dollar jokes please )

I was at EBGames earlier and they had a previously played Dreamcast for $14.99. That's a steal

When I sold my DC, I sold it for $50 and that included a mint condition console, two controllers, two VMU's and 20 games. I was pretty happy to get that for it.

Did Microsoft force you to sell your Dreamcast?

$50 does sound about right for that set up. It also depends a bit on what the games are and which ones are legit.

A preowned Dreamcast with controller is around $40 at places like Gamestop right now, although they regularly have great deals on them. I think $50 is more than fair, considering the games aren't all original... and some "guy" has had his greasy hands all over the controller for years.

If you're interested, EBGames has a 15 for $50 deal on preowned Dreamcast games right now.

cheapskate, have you ever ordered the 15 for $50, they say they may not include booklets, but I would only want them if they came in their cases, with the manuals

I would happily pay $50 for that deal. I think between $50 to $75 would be fair.

Depends on the games really. The console has no value it seems like (heck if you can get one at EB/Gamestop for $14.99, why not?). Maybe $30 to 40.

Ok good, I was thinking somewheres between 50 and 75, 75 would be absoloute max since I still have ps2 and snes games that I havent even touched yet.

I think the guy sounds a little hesitant about offing this but my co-worker keeps saying "dont worry, he will sell it to ya" Maybe if I sleep with her she will knock off 20 bucks

Or she would end up jacking the price on me

Well, its worth alot in my opinion because the DC was a great system, but the market seems to say what everyone is echoing, offer him $25-50. That is the range eBay seems to say is fair.

Still, a *great* value for a system with many excellent gmes IMO. The DC is the 3DO of '98-'99....

i would not count the "burned" games as part of the deal.. if you get them then great.. but burned games are worthless imo (no collectablitity or if you need to sellability) i'd say give him 25 bucks maybe for the system if you can't find it cheaper and like 5 bucks a game for the originals maybe

Nah, I sold it when I got my Xbox just to save space in the entertainment center (my wife was tiring of the console mountain). I really miss the SEGA Rally games though, I loved them so.
