Taxi Driver: Special Edition
Hello, last night I was watching the Simpsons and laughed at an episode with Moe imitating 'You talkin' to me?'. This got me wondering about the Taxi Driver: SE.
What time were the interviews based on in 70-minutes documentary? Was it around 1980s or more modern time like 1990s?
Thank you.

DVD Talk Special Edition
Interviews looked to be late 90's, early this decade. Very current and a great documentary, but this thing is incomplete to me without a Scorsese commentary. And the shame is, there was already one recorded for laserdisc.

DVD Talk Hero
The "making-of" on the Taxi Drive SE is very recent. They made it just before the SE came out (2000?) - you can tell because Cybil Shepard looks really OLD in the interview fottage.
It'd be nice if Criterion would let Columbia use the old (excelent) Scorsese comentary from their LD. I'd double dip for that.

The doc was recorded for the DVD release.
I'll third my wanting to have the old Criterion commentary with Scorsese in a DVD version.
But I don't want Criterion to let Columbia use it. I want Columbia to license the title to Criterion.
A man can dream.

I just picked up the Criterion laserdisc with commentary last night, and New York, New York with commentary. Now, if I can only get Raging Bull: CC, I'd be set.
