NBC Revamps Three Nights, Six Series

From TheFutonCritic.com

NBC's "The Apprentice" will trade one juggernaut for another as the Peacock announced yesterday plans to revamp three nights of its schedule as six of its series will changing time slots over the next two weeks.

"The Apprentice," which saw its adults 18-49 rating fall a whopping 52% against FOX's "American Idol" this past Wednesday, will move back to Thursdays, this time at 9:00/8:00c, beginning next week. The Donald Trump-hosted series fared better against CBS' "C.S.I.," beating the drama in the key demographic by 9% (10.2 vs. 9.3) last week. Encores of "The Apprentice" however will continue to run in the Wednesday, 8:00/7:00c hour.

The move will cause ripple effects throughout the Peacock's schedule as "Will & Grace" will move back to 8:30/7:30c on Thursdays while "Scrubs" will shift to Tuesdays at 9:30/8:30c. "Scrubs'" shift to Tuesdays will bump current Tuesday, 9:30/8:30c time slot holder "Happy Family" to 8:30/7:30c that night, while "Whoopi" will resume the lead off spot at 8:00/7:00c. "The Tracy Morgan Show," the odd show out in the equation, will move to Saturdays at 8:00/7:00c.

To review, here's a complete list of all the schedule changes:

Thursdays, as of January 29
8:00/7:00c - "Friends"
8:30/7:30c - "Will & Grace" (New Time Slot)
9:00/8:00c - "The Apprentice" (New Time Slot)
10:00/9:00c - "ER"

Saturdays, as of January 31
8:00/7:00c - "The Tracy Morgan Show" (New Time Slot)
8:30/7:30c - (Various programming)

Tuesdays, as of February 3
8:00/7:00c - "Whoopi" (New Time Slot)
8:30/7:30c - "Happy Family" (New Time Slot)
9:00/8:00c - "Frasier"
9:30/8:30c - "Scrubs" (New Time Slot)
10:00/9:00c - "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit"

"Good Morning, Miami," which had been airing in the Thursday, 8:30/7:30c half-hour, will go on hiatus.

Sounds like it. Too bad, because I'm enjoying that show.

I didn't think Good Morning Miami was still on. I thought it had been on Hiatus since November. Last one I saw was the Thanksgiving episode. I was really enjoying it too. Oh well. Another show lost.

Excellent!! I enjoyed Whoopi at 8pm, Tracy Morgan was torture. Happy family was ok to watch after Whoopi and I can start watching that again.

Any idea what will move to Thursdays next season when Friends goes bye bye?

I am ticked off. I actually like the show heh. The last episode they aired was on December 18th I think, in the post-Friends timeslot. I think the producers David Kohan and Max something or other are in some type of dispute also with NBC.

Actually, as much as I hate NBC, Scrubs might do better following Frasier.

Damn!

Two shows that had been living in VCR land, Happy Family and I'm With Her are now up against each other.

I am exactly the opposite. One less show for me to watch on Fox.
