Quietness and DVD players
Hello,
I just bought a Sanyo DVD-SL33 at Costco; while it seems to be a good player overall, it is making a whine which I can't stand. I'm very keen to the noises produced by electronic components around the house and always shop for quiet before quality. Before that, I was playing my DVDs on my Playstation 2 - imagine the pain (that thing sounds like a vacuum cleaner.)
Is there such a thing as a silent (or, at least, rather quiet) DVD player? Are cheaper ones usually noisier, or could it be the other way around -- more power = more noise? I'd ask a salesman, but I figured they would just look at me strangely and babble.
As a side question, I'm also wondering if any kind soul here has ever used a Zenith DVD player, and what they though of it. I was hesitating between that one and the Sanyo. I forgot its complete name - I think it's the Zenith DVB216.
In case I'm lucky enough to receive any answer - thanks!

Zenith and Sanyo wouldn't even be liste in the top 10 players I would consider buying. There are much better options out there, including Pioneer, Panasonic, Denon and many others.
really, the best thing to do is have a salesman spin a disc in each player you're looking at and decide for yourself if it meets your sound requirements.

Build quality has alot to do with the noise.
