The Sad end of Grand Royal...
You can now buy the Beastie Boy's record label for the immense fortune of 15 grand:

Pretty sad. Look at their assets, not much there.
This is an awful end to what used to be a good label. They had Buffalo Daughter (whose New Rock still sounds great), At the Drive in and a ton of other good bands. Now they have 15K Luscious Jackson t-shirts.
I guess the Boys, for all of their witty raps, aren't much good at minding the store.

I really don't know how this is possible with all the revenue the Beasties have generated. Maybe they were just sick of pumping so much cash into it and not spawning Dr. Dre-like successes.
I could theorize it has something to do with the lackluster music they themselves have put out for the last 10 years, but that is based only on my opinion, not the facts of the marketplace.
