I'm still so pumped from the game that I hope this post will be coherent (as a Red Sox fan this is my one time to gloat). As we watched the pre-game show from our tent in the parking lot, I was sickened as to the biased coverage. EVERYTHING was "Manning was MVP", "Colts offense has scored 79 points in the last two weeks", "The Colts never have to punt", etc. They made it sound as if the only way the Pats could win was to play the perfect game. Hell we beat the Colts earlier this season, but that was dismissed by saying "Well the Colts are better now", "The Pats got lucky then." Well we took your NFL mvp and made him look foolish; constanly throwing off his backfoot, baffled by the coverages, and being sacked 4 times. There was no greater pleasure than seeing his long-necked, goofy looking face in a confused grimace as he threw his hands up in anger after each int. Surely this couldnt be the quarterback "god" we heard so much about having a game with a rating under 40? The Colts were overmatched in every aspect of the game. They also preached how ineffectice our running game was all year. Well when it mattered most we outran the Colts. We went 14-2 in the regular season and only had 3 Pro-Bowl players, that = no respect. The only thing that kept this game from being a 40+ point blowout was the Colts defense and their ability to hold us to field goals. Granted the scoreboard only shows a difference of 10 points, but Colts fans be honest with yourselves, we manhandled you. More passing yards, more rushing yards, more t.o.p, more turnovers. Although we won all you'll hear about is "How we only beat the Colts by a a few", "The refs sucked." Everyone is always trying to look at the negatives with this team And now that we are going to the Super Bowl, all you'll hear is about the other team. Just watch the Pats get "lucky" again next week.

And I love how people on this forum say they hate seeing the Pats win. Why? We don't have any jerks like T.O, Shockey, Sapp. No one on the team gets involved in off the field altercations. They're not flashy, or brash...they simply win. I only have a little hatred towards Brady because my gf think he's really hot. And you can't say that you always hate seeing the Pats win. One doesnt have to look back far to see that we didnt make the playoffs last year. Look back a litte farther and we were the worst team in the NFL with a 1-15 record. So get over it. I saw someone use the term "crap-tastic" to describe them. Well if going 10-0 at home makes a team crap-tastic then I hope we're even more crap-tastic next week.

Now with that being said I'll describe the game. The only time I went to a game with more electricity in the air was back in 96 when we played the Jaguars in the playoffs. There was just a different feeling in the parking lot. The weather was beautiful compared to last week, for much of the game I didnt even have gloves on. The snow did get kinda melty making things wet, but most people stood for the entire game so that didnt really matter. Everyone stayed after in the lot, so as soon as we got to our truck we left. Traffic actually pretty light for once. We missed going to the Super Bowl in 2001, but we're not missing it this time. Our friends already called and got us all a room just outside Houston. If we cant get tickets through the Pats season's ticket holder raffle, we'll just buy them from scalpers. After having seasons tickets in the family for 17 years, I think its time we see a Super Bowl.

I'll post pics soon..and as always I'll try to fill any requests.

Fixed!

But they wouldn't have won without the officials. -rolleyes-

;)

Congrats to the Pats! Looking forward to the pics, Mot!

Um ... you're aware you were favored by 3, and at least from my bookie, it was -135 (i.e., only a 65% payout even if they did win by more than 3)? Someone out there thought you'd win. I myself had quite a bit of money riding on it.

Great post! You must have been flying back to RI! Good luck with the lottery. The Patriots are undefeated in games you go to this year!

Id like to request a pic. There was a shot of Manning with dirt and grass stuck in his helmet. Did you get it? Im looking forward to the pics as always.

Now sure what I got yet. I brought all my memory cards and took the pics in Super High Quality - about 1 meg a piece

I realize that we were favored, but what I meant was the overwhelming majority of the pregame show was focused on the Colts and their players. Why not see a few stories about the Pats players instead?

Since you know what youre doing with football gambling, can you tell me how much money im gonna win if the Pats win the Superbowl? I had a relative bet $20 for me when they went to Vegas. The ticket says

Super Bowl XXXVIII 2003-2004
3015 Patriots
+750 MLB
event date 2/1/04
Win $150 to pay $170
Ticket cost $20

I have no idea what any of that means.
And maybe someone can quote me. In case Das has me on ignore. :o

Good thing I clicked "here" My Ignore List is reserved for people who personally attack me, usually repeatedly. Not even people like Brantley make it without an attack. ;) Ever done that?

Anyway, 3015 is probably an internal number referencing the game. +750 means you'll win 750 if you bet 100, or 150 if you bet 20. Pay 170 means, you get your 20 back plus the 150 if you win the bet. You'll "win" $150, and get "paid" $170.

Great post!! I totally agree with everything you said.

It really pisses me off how this team gets absolutely no respect across the country. How they're "lucky" or the refs are the only reason they won. Or when somebody says that they have no superstars. Tom Brady, Ty Law, Richard Seymour, Rodney Harrison, Willie McGinest, Ted Washington, Adam Vinatieri, and even Troy Brown. WTF?!?! Those are some of the best players at their respective positions in the entire NFL. Yes I know they were favored to win, but all I heard all week was Peyton this, Peyton that. Perfect passer rating, blah blah blah. The game would be Peyton Manning versus Bill Bellichick. Nobody even wanted to talk about the Patriots players. They sure didn't get a lot of positive coverage for a team that's supposedly the favorite. They had the best record in the league this year and deserve to be in the Super Bowl.

(And considering their draft situation this year and the amount of youth they already have, plus the incredible coaching staff and ownership, this team looks like it's going to be at the top of the league for a few more years... so people better start getting used to it. :D )

That ticket clearly says the Pats have to win in 3015. So it is no good, sorry.

i'm just afraid that our coordinators will leave for head coaching jobs. i almost think weiss and crennel are more important than bellichick.

the pics might have to wait till morning...i'm beat

There is only one team left looking for a head coach (which has not been talking to either one AFAIK) and I don't think they will leave to asst. somewhere else. Why would they?

I'm not sure if you're serious, but you'll win 170 if they win the superbowl, you bet them at at a little over 7-1 odds.. (They were one of the more favored teams when I see the odds on it)

So you'll get your initial bet $20 + $150 profit for a total of $170..

My gf is also a big pats fan, and we're gonna be vegas she also put down 20 on them to win it all, when we were there last july.. She only got 7-1 exactly though, so she'll win 140

good luck!

As a Charger fan I love this picture of Rodney holding the trophy. If you have anymore of him (like his interception in the endzone) please post them.
