Is Otogi: Hyakki Toubatsu Emaki US Bound? (xbox)

Just curious, haven't read anything on it other than TBA, has Otogi: Hyakki Toubatsu Emaki (Otogi 2) even been hinted at as having a US release?

I've been playing the hell out of the Japanese version, and man is it one addictively fun game (and pretty insane too), not to mention one of the best looking (tho there's a filter over it, gives it an etherreal look but degrades the graphics quality a little bit, minor detail tho).

Much, Much, Much more variety this time around, awesome all around, even tho I don't have the slightest clue what's being said.

I'm sad that Sega's quality Xbox games are selling so poor. What the hell is wrong with people in this country?

Too innovative for American gamer tastes

Admittedly some are pretty tough and can be somewhat frustrating (ie. Gunvalkyrie), but the challenge is on such a different level than most games. For instance, it's pretty easy to beat the game in JSRF or JGR but it's a whole different story to go back and unlock all the characters, etc.

That said, I sold Otogi after I got stuck fighting the big red guy in the snow canyon.

Sega's been making Niche market games for the X-box., that's why they don't sell well.

Shenmue series won't catch on as most aren't interested in spending that much time just running around talking to people.

Jet Grind Series is too quirky.

I hate both those game series personally.

I just got PDO and haven't played it yet so I can't comment on it.

This game has crazy particle effects. Almost too many, it's like they tried to put as many as possible into every hit so the air and everything around you implodes, but it does make it look impressive. Don't know anything about the US release date but judging from the sales in the US and Japan, I'd say its a miracle that they even made a sequel.

Jet Set Radio is the sole reason I got an Xbox.

Is that the one with the Priest screaming "NONE SHALL PASS!"?

I got frustrated with the one too but it's simple after you find out something. When you get to that area where you walk up to him, don't take the middle path.. take the side path. Most preferrably, on your left side. From there, you can attack him on the side and not get a single scratch. I think maybe 8 strong attacks on him will do it. You'll get knocked back, but you are hurting him.

I'm 2 levels after that one, where you're on a boat. Even more frustrating.

Indeed, a very cool game. Hopefully the sequel makes it here.

Yes.. NONE SHALL PASS!

I actually tried that.. tried to get him from the side and behind and still got killed. I'll try it again.. I really want to play further into it.. it's a great game.
