What B-movie director was killed by his handyman and buried under concrete?

I was listening to the commentary on Toolbox Murders (quite the masterpiece ) and it was mentioned that a B-movie director that lived in the California desert turned up missing.

The police couldn't figure out what happened to him. So they asked neighbors to see if anything seemed odd about his house. Someone mentioned he loved his spa and it was no longer there. Instead there was fresh concrete on the spot.

It was dug up and the director was found. The handyman he'd hired was later caught.

I'm guessing it was 10-20 years ago, maybe more.

I meant to write the guy's name down and forgot.

Who is it?

I believe that would be Al Adamson.

Who is Al Adamson?

I'll take "Ben Affleck Bombs" for $500, Alex.

Edit: D'oh! Can I at least get a consolation prize?

Yes, I think Adamson, but if I'm not mistaken, it occurred about two or three years ago.

Thanks! Much more recent than I thought.
