Shattered Glass in March!
Hey all,
From DVDfile...
The controversial tale of disgraced journalist Stephen Glass, Shattered Glass has failed to garner the buzz of some of the bigger indies this Oscar season, but it is well worth checking out on DVD when it hits stores on March 23rd. Starring Peter Sarsgaard and Hayden Christensen, Lion's Gate Home Entertainment will present the flick in anamorphic widescreen transfer and Dolby Digital 2.0 surround, plus a 60 Minutes interview with the real Stephen Glass and trailers. Retail will be $26.95.
Saw this movie last night in the theaters and was blown away! Really great performances and a really engaging film. And it shows because I was in a theater that was about 2x the size of my living room (small) and although equipped for surround usage, didn't utilize it. But damn was i into it the whole time.

That was filmed in Surround?!
That sure did catch me off guard.
I thought it was an excellent film (#6 in my top 10) and this quote is wrong:
Peter Sarsgaard has now become a frontrunner for a Best Supporting Actor nomination.

I think it was one of the best indies of the year. In my opinion it was much better than, say, The Station Agent or Lost in Translation.
When I saw the film I said Peter Sarsgaard should get a Best Supporting Actor nomination but I doubted it would happen. Now the buzz has increased and I think he's got a shot.
This record of awards and nominations in the pre-Oscar season is quite impressive:
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0323944/awards .
I'll be picking up the DVD for sure.

It made my Top 5 for 2003 and I'd definitely like to add it to my collection. (I also saw it in a home basement-sized theatre, and the film broke midway through, to boot! It was so engrossing the break while they spliced it back together was very annoying!)
