New batch of Dylan reissues....when?
Does anybody know when albums like Bob Dylan, The Times They Are A-Changin', New Morning, The Basement Tapes, and Empire Burlesque are going to be remastered and reissued like the 15 that were re-released last September? Has there been any talk of this?

I seem to recall reading an article around the time the first batch was released (in USA Today perhaps?) in which a Sony records rep said there was no timetable on the future releases, just that more would be coming sometime this year.
On a side note, looks like the bootleg series volume 6 (philharmonic hall concert) will be released sometime soon now that there is a pic of the cover up on his web site.

Basement Tapes...
man, i would love to hear that in remastered/sacd quality. they've got the entire Band catalogue remastered, now if they could only get the stuff they did with Dylan done too, i'd be one happy camper.

Am I the only one who's not that impressed with the Stereo SACD release of Highway 61? I thought I'd buy one stereo SACD to see if it was an improvement and it seems the same as the regular CD. Maybe my systems not good enough to hear the subtle differences but it sounds pretty flat to me.

i actually don't have highway 61 in sacd, so i couldn't tell you. i do have blood on the tracks and blonde on blonde, and both have a much richer sound than the original cd releases....

Hollowgen,
for some reason, they didn't do a surround mix on Highway 61 but they did on both of the one's you bought. That may be why they sound richer, although I understand the surround effects are very subtle on the Dylan releases (he ain't Pink Floyd). The Stereo SACD mix barely sends anything to my sub woofer.
