The O.C. 1/7/04

Tonight's episode delivered once again, lots of funny tidbits and some melodramatic moments as usual.

I still can't believe the turnaround Luke has made as the comedy relief as he's become even more oblivious and socially inept in spots.

Summer's got her plan B working (to break up Seth and Anna), and it'll be fun to watch.

Oliver's a bit too creepy, especially in his voyeur mode at the end.

I admire Jimmy's fortitude when Seth's aunt was coming on to him.

Saw it on Monday... and it continues to bring the funny.

I loved the Playstation joke.

The best was the line from Hard to Kill.

I loved this ep, but Oliver has got to go - he's bringing the show down when he's on it. I know their trying to make a serious sub-plot for this thing, but when they don't take themselves too seriously this show is just rolling on all cyliinders. I would have left psycho-rich-boy in jail, too.

The continuing saga of Seth, Anna and Summer is just awesome. I love how Summer keeps sitting between the two even after she finds out that they are dating. The girl has spunk. Both of them looked great tonight.

I can't believe Jimmy said "no" to Kirsten's little sister - who cares if she was just eight years old when he went away to college. Jimmy is dumb, dumb, dumb, dumb, dumb and dumb...

Sandy brings the funny w/ the Hard to Kill reference.

Luke was killing me during the scenes at the Rooney concert - definitely like where they are bringing his character. "That concert didn't suck at all."

"How about a little Seth/Ryan time?"

"Luke's Dad is Gay, Luke's Dad is Gay"

Luke reminded me sort of like a Seann William Scott (Stiffler) type character.

Ummm, YEAH! Did you see the preview for next week? The psycho busts a plate and starts hitting himself in the face. (I would give that the spoiler treatment but it was in the preview, and I haven't seen the episode.)

Luke is just weird now. I think he might be a little more socially aware since he was always hanging with the "cool" crowd.

This is just my opinion, but I don't see how Seth could choose Anna over Summer. Summer looked amazing at the concert; Anna was just blah - talk about a lot of makeup. That's straight opinion, and I know people will disagree.

The Steven Segall reference was great, as well as the constant mention of TiVo.

I'm not sure the 4000 times they mentioned Rooney during the episode was enough.

Other then that it was a pretty good episode.

for Seth telling Ryan he left his balls Seth/Luke is almost as funny as Seth/Ryan.

I'm not a fan of Oliver either.

Was that the longest time during any episode that Marissa wasn't wearing a mini skirt? Her outfit at the "concert" was pretty freaking hot.

What was that line by Sandy about TIVO?

"An empty TIVO equals an empty mind."

Sounds like signature material for das.

No, it was "An empty Tivo equals a clear mind"

My fav Seth line of the evening was as Luke sang along obnoxiously to Rooney:

Seth- Who sings this song?
Luke- Rooney!
Seth- (under his breath) Yeah, could we keep it that way.

What was the PlayStation line? I must have missed it.

Who thought Peter Gallagher would play the role of the liberal lawyer/Zen-like surfer/father so perfectly? His portrayal of Sandy Cohen has been a pleasant surprise on this show.

My favorite Sandy line "Seth, your mother is hot and I got her"

Interesting that Seth and Anna were both wearing Members Only jackets. If only I had known that Members Only jackets were coming back into style, I could have sold mine for some big bucks as "vintage clothing"

Luke's got to go because his over-the-top comedy is ridiculous. Nobody does a complete turnaround like that.

It's a waste of time. I hope they keep the focus on the adults and the teens because it would get tiresome one way or the other.

I thought that this was the first episode where it was Sandy that stole the show & not Seth. Gallagher was always one of those actors that I just couldn't stand whenever he popped up in a movie. He is just so boring, but man is he good on the show. The best part of the show, after Seth IMO.

I thought this episode was actually one of the weaker episodes. I have no interest in the Jimmy storyline, & really don't like where they are going with the psycho/drug addict new guy, the episode felt mostly like a gratuitious plug for a really bad dime a dozen band, & I also don't like the Luke angle. The guy was one of the "cool" kids at school & now all of a sudden he doesn't know how to act normal in public?

Still a great show & Seth still cracks me up constantly, but I definitely thought this was a week episode.

Can't stand Oliver or Luke, but I liked the show. There are always 5 or 10 great lines in each show, and, DAMN, Kirsten's sister is hot!

"What was the PlayStation line? I must have missed it."

When luke was playing the football game on the PS2 Luke made a comment and Seth kind of rolled his eyes and said "he bought Playstation for the sports games".

That had me laughing pretty good. It was a nice, quick jab at mainstream gamers

Great episode! I love this show. I like the fact that Luke acts like a jackass....I think all the "cool" kids at school are just like him. All the jocks at my school were loud, obnoxious apes with no manners....so looks real to me!! Anna is seriously getting on my nerves...I think the chemistry btw Seth and Summer is much hotter (maybe cuz they've been spotted out in NYC together )Sandy just rules. I loved the Tivo shout-out.

"Ryan you forgot your balls."

While Luke is pretty obnoxious and very weird, he's also not nearly as much of an ass (in a malicious way) as he used to be. And he's accepted Marissa and Ryan.

We have to take into consideration that his whole world has been turned upside down in a short period of time. He's dealing with it in his own way. The show is smart enough to let him develop.

I always use:

Me - You know why they sing this song?
Other Person - No, why?
Me - So you don't have to.

God, I can't remember the last time my Tivo was empty. If an empty Tivo equals a clear mind, then I got issues.

Peter Gallagher's Sandy is my current favorite character on the show. He was great in this ep, I loved it when he ripped into Kirsten's sister.

By the way, if my woman acted like Marissa does with some dude, I'd find a new one. That is some bs.

I also think Luke's turnaround is a bit too quick, should have happened over a longer period of time. And surely not all of his old friends would turn their back on him with his gay dad thing, that's just too unrealistic.

Oliver is a dick, get rid of him!

my favourite line was Sandy and the YMCA dance moves ! lol

good show

You are not going to like this weeks episode. It now appears to be the Oliver show.

Summer was great as usual. But we could use a little more Seth and Anna.
