Elven appearance...
Question about the elves and their appearance. I noticed that in the movies and from what I can gather from the books, that elves don't really age much physically. Now I know that they are immortal, but I've not really seen any that look to be over about 40 years old appearance-wise. Even Galadrial, who is Elrond's mother, looks to be barely older than Elrond. Any insight into this?

Elves do not age in the manner of men though some have been hardened or "aged" by their life struggles (particularly those that suffer through the pain of war... (imagine the risk and cost of war to an otherwise immortal being...)
And Galadriel is not Elrond's mother. She is the mother of Elrond's deceased wife, thus Arwen's Grandmother on the other side of the family. Elrond is the son of Earendil and Elwing; the brother to Elros, the forefather of the Numenorians (Aragorn's ultimate great grandfather).
