Top 10 Greatest Action Moments on DVD

Quick searches on this subject turned up nothing, so here we go. Post you're 10 favorite action sequences/scenes/moments on dvd.
One last note, please try to keep this from being a LOTR spam-fest. We already know that Moria, and Helms Deep were cool, but try to think of other movies besides LOTR's.

Anyways, here are my Top 10 favorites:

10. Starship Troopers -- Landing on Klendathu.
9. The Matrix Reloaded -- Highway Chase.
8. Aliens -- Fire fight in the operations room.
7. Die Hard 2 -- Skywalk ambush scene.
6. Heat -- Gun fight after heist.
5. Scarface -- "Say hello to my little friend"
4. T2 -- Raid on Cyberdine Systems.
3. The Rock -- Shower room ambush.
2. Ran -- Attack on the third castle.
1. Gladiator -- Opening battle.

Lets see everyone elses.

Geez, this is near impossible. I'll name a few, but in know particular order. . .

Heat, T2, & Aliens - Are the only ones I completely agree w/ you on.

Hard Boiled - Warehouse shootout & Hospital shoot out.

A Better Tommorow 2 - When Chow storms the mansion. (maybe my all-time favorite gun fight).

Throne of Blood - The ending.

The Matrix - The lobby gun fight. (And I LOATHE the Matrix, but even I have to admit this is one hell of an action scene).

Drunken Master 2 - Every fight in the movie.

Well that seems a little harsh. Why would you want to exlcude some one of the best fantasy battle sequences of all movie time from a list of the "Top 10 Greatest Action Moments on DVD"?

Anyway, here's my list in no particular order (some agreements from the other lists):

- Saving Private Ryan - D-Day Landing
- The Rock - Shower room ambush
- Braveheart - Battle of Falkirk
- The Matrix - The lobby scene
- We Were Soldiers - Almost all of it
- Pearl Harbor - "The" attack (whether or not you like the movie, it's a pretty good action sequence).
- Drunken Master 2 - Every fight in the movie. (stolen from Sessa . . . good call! Outstanding matial arts work by JC)
- Gangs Of New York - The opening "rumble"
- The Two Towers - Battle of Helms Deep
- Natural Born Killers - The prison break

Honorary mention (only because it's not on DVD yet) - Return Of The King - Battle at Minas Tirith . . . whether or not you have something against LOTR or Petter Jackson or Orlando Bloom or fanboys . . . whatever . . . it's hard to deny that this is one of the great battle scenes in the history of movies.

It's interesting . . . I think my criterion on the is base on the director's ability to manage and mold chaos. The more chaotic, the better, but only if the director can control it.

Hmmm... trying not to retread some of the same ground...

Once Upon a Time in China I, II - various. the two run together in my collective memory.

Desperado - three mariachis, book store burning

Fist of Legend - schoolhouse scene? I think it was a schoolhouse. It's been awhile since I saw it.

The Empire Strikes Back - Rebel Base Attack on Hoth

Star Wars - Death Star Trench

Once upon a time I thought some of the battle sequences in Tron were cool. Probably seem pretty generic nowadays though.

What? I can't believe that no one has mentioned Road Warrior yet?

How about the car chases in Bullit and The French Connection, the one against the world sword fight in Samurai II, the final battle in Seven Samurai, the climatic shootout in The Wild Bunch and for the sheer gratutitous violence, the ending of Straw Dogs.

edit: I forgot the race scenes in Grand Prix and LeMan.

I know it sounds harsh, but I figured everyone and thier mothers would mention LOTR's. Think of FOTR and TT not being excluded but already implied.

Oh I forgot Saving Private Ryan -- Normandy Landing. Good call on that.

Over 20 years since I've seen it, I totally forgot about The Driver. I don't think that I've even seen it on TV!

And while we at it how about some campy action car chases al la Roger Corman. Anyone for Death Race 2000?

I would add the drug field scene in XXX, I know the film has its haters ( I loathe the way it keeps saying James Bond is too old, and then follows their blueprint so closely). Anyway this scene REALLY pumped up through your amp is beautiful, its nice the jump was really done and not CGI (apart from the head). And if you watch closely there is abit of logic in the scene.
