WHAT WILL THE NEW YEAR BRING?
Jan. 5, 2003
For the second straight week, RAW will feature the homecoming for a RAW Superstar as Jerry "The King" Lawler returns to Memphis. And if this homecoming produces results like the last one, RAW is bound to set the stage for perhaps its most exciting year, ever!

Last week, Shawn Michaels fought one of the greatest battles of his legendary career in front of his hometown fans in San Antonio, coming within inches on several occasions of defeating Triple H for the World Heavyweight Championship. While Triple H escaped with the Title, the match brought about the return of Stone Cold Steve Austin -- who was reinstated on his terms by the WWE Board of Directors. Austin declared that there will be a rematch and on RAW, and he may just announce when and where that rematch will take place!

Also on RAW, Mark Henry was given the week off last week after attacking Booker T from behind to open the show. However, Eric Bischoff promised Henry that he could cash in his favor still owed from Survivor Series, this week on RAW. What will Henry choose? Watch RAW and find out!

The whole landscape of RAW has changed now that Stone Cold is back and on his own terms. As he declared, "there is a new sheriff in town." Find out what that means on RAW at 9/8 CT on Spike TV!

Who cares as long as Victoria is now in the Women's title hunt!

I'm still waiting for the Lita/Victoria feud. I'll be all over that one :eyebrow:

Apparently it's just you and me not in the "Lita's a man, and an ugly one at that" camp.

I pray for a Molly/Victoria match at Wrestlemania. And I hope they don't pull that 3 way or 4 way crap just to toss Trish and Lita in the ring at WMXX.

The WMXX womens championship should have Molly trying to win back the belt from Victoria (who wins it at the Royal Rumble).

Directly after WMXX, Molly gets a DVD release which enrages Victoria and fuels the feud for another 6 months.

During this time, Trish becomes Jericho's valet(which looks like where that angle is heading) and Lita gets shipped off to Smackdown.

I'll cast my vote for Molly/Victoria.

I'd really like to see a great Women's title match at WM, which of course, means no Trish. -wink-

What are the chances of a Lita/Victoria Bra & Panties Match?!

WTF was that?! Just last Sunday on Heat, Victoria was standing up to Test and kicking him in the nuts. But now all of a sudden she's running around scared? Lack of consistency is not a good thing. I knew something was up when she didn't come out in her wrestling gear. Nice closeups, though.

And all of that was just to stick Trish in the ring again. She's like the female HHH. The WWE doesn't consider it a match unless Trish is involved. At least Jazz is back (somehow looking better than before). I predict she'll be around for 6 weeks before getting injured and sitting out the rest of the year.

Speaking of Jazz, why is she going after Trish? She tosses the women's champ out of the ring, and then beats up on the blonde? It doesn't make sense. So now we have Molly and Victoria fighting for a belt thats devalued while Jazz feuds with Trish for no reason other than the WWE needs to see Trish at a PPV.

I agree, it seems to me that Victoria was playing the "sweet supportive partner who can't hang with the big strong Test" to Richards role, and not the "crazed psycho Jezebel" of last week that we all said we loved more.

Nice job, writers. -rolleyes-

Now, though I don't agree that she should have run off scared of Test, don't tell me I'm the only one that rewound and slo-mo'd that shot as she ran around the ring corner towards the camera.

I haven't seen the second hour of Raw yet, so I guess I haven't seen the other women.

Also, either he can't follow a script to save is life, or they didn't write Teddy Long's stuff very well.

"I'm the GM for the Night"
"You can't say anything different tonight, SCSA, badge or not"
"Well, OK, I'll let you change the match, but YOU CAN'T CHANGE ANYTHING ELSE TONIGHT, DARNIT! CAUSE I'M IN CHARGE!!!!!!"
-rolleyes-

Also, could Mark Henry get a personality? He's so bad, I'm wishing Big Poppa Pump got more air time. :yack:

And when does Trish rate her own dressing room? And with her name written in huge letters on the door? I know it was for the Jericho skit but why couldn't that have happened in the generic women's locker room . If Trish has her own dressing room, that means Molly, as the Women's Champ, should have her own, too.

And why was Mae Young in the shower if it was Trish's dressing room? See writers, when you try to force someone down the viewers throat it just screws up the whole suspension of disbelief thing that wrestling lives on.

Best part of the night was Coach. He had me laughing more than Lawler ever did. When he had his feet up on the table and fell back when Kane's pyro hit was classic.

using 'D-von is only half black'. as an excuse to root against him was inspired.

The WWE should keep the Coach in the announcing (making it a 3 man) or replace Lawler with Coach. A good heel/face announce team would breath some life into the ever so stale announcing.

JR and King annoy the crap out of me.. but JR and Coach I could probably handle due to the heel/face combination. I guess King is "supposed" to be the heel announcer, but he reminds me of the The Rock trying to be a heel, very intimidated to say anything that would upset the fans.

Nice job, writers. -rolleyes-Yeah I was even set aloft by that and my attention span on wrestling is such that they can usually slip stuff like this by me.

I'm still afraid of Jericho face turn.. I know.. I know he can do it well and be entertaining with it, much like Angle can be highly entertaining both ways, but.. but.. it's just that Jericho is the greatest heel of all time.

Oh.. HHH is really stepping out of crap mode. The last 2 weeks I've been "Wow, HHH is bringing the goods!"

Of course he is. It's Triple H, he always steps it up in time for Wrestlemania. Plus he's in a great feud with a great friend.

I agree I thought that was very funny.
