I bought a SONY DVP-NS725P player which is $114.00. The SONY DVP-NS425P goes for $99.00 and guess what? The 425P performs much better than the 725P. I was so upset I returned it back and decided not to get none and now I am deciding to hold off on those progressive players. My girlfriend has the 425P and I detected no difference in terms of picture player performance compared to the 725. Sometimes I feel Sony is full of boloney. The most impressive thing i noticed is that I could not believe there is no viewable layer change on the 425P (No pause seen at all!) The 425P is extremely fast. Im wondering why the 725P is slow and not as fast yet is costs more! wtf? The players are almost twins...but the cheaper valued won.

You decided not to get none? That's a mouthful.

The 725 offers 3:2 pulldown processing and an optical digital output, neither of which are found on the 425. Maybe these matter to you, maybe they don't, but the optical output alone is probably worth the $15 difference to a lot of people.

Simply put, thats why you don't get low-level Sonys. Low level Sonys are the worst products out there, across all major brands. They are usuallY missing several key features, and are a way to cash in on people who want the Sony name.

What i dont understand is why Sony did not use the same laser piece of better quality on the 725? The 725 system performs slow like their old interlace models! C'mon wtf! If the 425 can perform at lightning speed why can't the 725 that costs more who is the moron that decided not to use the same laser piece!!!

Of course you DO REALIZE that you have to own a TV which is capable of Progressive Display in addition to having a Progressive Scan DVD player - don't you?!
