Monk?

Does anybody know why the new season is starting January 16th instead of sometime this summer?

Those jerks, giving it to us early.

A new season of Monk, a new season of The Shield, a new season of American Idol, and a new season of Average Joe?

It's going to be a January to remember, folks.

Actually, isn't this sort of the second half of the 'current' season? They only showed around 9 episodes in the summer and said at that point it'd be returning in Jan.

Second “half”?

Obviously coming from a fan of SciFi, where there can be any number of “quadrants.”

There are, what, 4 to 6 “halves” of the regular season (not counting summer reruns)?

Check your Tivo Season Passes. The new episode on 1/16 is marked incorrectly and if you have a "First Run Only" SP, Tivo will not record it.

Likewise, if you have it on "First Run and Repeats," you'll get a shitload of episodes because of the marathon.

Either way, you'll need to do some manual tweaking.

Once again with the USA/TiVo weirdness I was hoping it would be fixed by now.

Thanks for the info, I'm pretty sure Monk isn't showing up in my "to do" list.

Hmm. I have a First Run only SP, and I could have sworn I saw the episode in my To Do list last night. I'll have to verify this when I get home...

Yep, it was on my TiVo to do list, and my SP is set to record First Run only. :shrugs:

Appears to be a difference between standalone Tivos and DirecTV Tivos - SAs are okay, DTs aren't.

According to the Tivo forums, anyways...and I know my DT didn't have it set to record, I added it manually.

Yeah, I saw some people on the Tivo forums said that the episode showed up in their To-Do list on one day and then the next day it had vanished.

Weird.

Interesting. Do the DTV Tivos get their guide data from a different source than the SA's?

Thanks for the heads up.

I'll be sure to update my DirecTivo. Don't want to miss Monk.

Does anybody know if the episodes that are coming up are going to be new?
usanetwork.com has Mr. Monk and the Ariplane, Mr. Monk Goes Back to School, and Mr. Monk Goes to the Ball Game posted for January 16th. I thought they were going to be new shows. ABC has Mr. Monk Goes Back to School as the Season Premiere.
These aren't new!
What the Heck!!!!!
