I read Mike Long's DVD review of Space Ghost Coast to Coast: Volume 1 at http://www.dvdtalk.com/reviews/read.php?ID=8292 and...
The Cartoon Network Adult Swim people were pretty up front about why certain episodes were left off the DVDs. They mentioned (on air via interstital captions) that the missing episodes were left off due to having to pay extra fees for talent who didn't sign off on the so-called "off network" rights. Maybe if this volume does well, they'll have enough incentive to cough up the money for the extra fees, but in the meantime, I believe they're arranging for a marathon of the non-DVD season 1 and 2 episodes, so keep your DVD recorder warm.
