I always like to purchase special editions of classic movies from the 80's and 90's. We all look forward to that double disc special edition with loads of features for that classic movie. Usually movies become classics and they re-release them as special editions. Looking back at the last 3 years for the 2000 millenium what movies will we look back on 5-10 or more years time and say this is a classic you just got to have this movie on DVD.

Just off the top of my head:

Memento
The Lord of the Rings Trilogy(Theatrical and Extended cuts)
The Pianist
Almost Famous

There are many more, I just can't think of them right now.

Unfortunatley not that many. The 1990s was a great decade for film. The 2000's arent starting off so great.

LOTR trilogy
Harry Potter films
Memento
Road to Perdition
Pirates of the Carribean

Lots of others are good and great films but these are films that feel like they will be timeless.
