Saturday Night Live Marathon 12/24
50 Greatest Episodes
12/24-12/28 on Comedy Central
I just noticed that episodes are an hour long and its always been like this. Is it less commercials or what that makes them shorter than the NBC hour and a half episodes?

I am sure the shows are limited to the ones that Comedy Central have the broadcast rights. Speaking of which, has Comedy Central lost the broadcast rights to Saturday Night Live? I figured this marathon was their big blowout before they lost the rights. I couple this with the promos for Mad TV on Comedy Central that have begun to run.

I am interested in two particular episodes that I've never seen, but everyone here has posted about at one time or another.
If someone knows exactly when they are being aired and would post it in this forum, I would really appreciate it.
1. Cowbell skit.
2. Fat Tina Fey in the audience.

Well, I'm not gonna find out if and when they are exactly playing during this marathon, but the Cowbell skit is in an episode hosted by Christopher Walken, and Fat Tina Fey in audience is in an episode hosted by Lucy Lawless. That should narrow it down a bit for you.

1. Cowbell Skit - Christopher Walken, musical guest Christina Aguleira
2. Fat Tina Fey - Gwyneth Paltrow (promoting Shakespeare in Love)

So I'm assuming that the moment anyone notices the cowbell episode, they will post here immediately
My wife has still never seen it, and Will Ferrell bears a striking resemblence to my father circa 1977 in that skit...it's almost spooky....but that will probably come the final day I would imagine....Saturday?

I saw a commercial for this, and they showed a clip from the show Jennifer Lopez hosted a couple of years ago. Please tell me that terrible show isn't considered to be one of the 50 greatest episodes.

I myself am hoping to see the episode from 1996 that Steve Forbes hosted--the opening sketch is a killer.

so I was gone all day saturday....anyone have a rundown of which episodes they showed? I'm particularly curious if i need to keep checking for the cowbell today, or the episodes with Joan Allen and/or Matthew Perry (containing Harry Caray skits)....

such a classic episode, maybe number one will be Alec Baldwin and his Schwetty Balls, or the Heather Graham epsiode that was completly devoted to Clinton.

Well some of the episodes today the 28th were The Rock, David Duchovney, Cameron Diaz, Christopher Walkin. I'm glad I got to see "Jinglehiemer Junction". That's one of the best skits ever.

it's also Hilarious.
I don't really understand why that Duchovny episode was so highly ranked, other than the possibility of all the idiots who voted for it because of puffy
But the Diaz episode was truly one of the better episodes ever....tons of classic skits in that one.

I know they only have rights to the recent shows, but there's no doubt in my mind that one of the Steve Martin shows in the early years was the best ever -- King Tut, Medieval Doctor, Festrunk Brothers, etc. Every single skit was a classic.
I also like the Eddie Murphy show from the Billy Crystal/Martin Short season. That's got some great skits - White Like Me, Gumby in the Deli, etc.

Jim Carrey's show is #1. Not a bad choice in my opinion. One of my favorite episodes. Him doing Jimmy Stewart on the Joe Pesci show is priceless.

My other favorite was the one with John Travolta hosting. In the beginning, the Saturday Night Fever skit was great. So was the one where him and Adam Sandler play a couple of hearing impaired thugs and get into an arguement.
