The Mask 2

Saw a trailer for this when I saw ROTK.

Just plain hideous. I've never heard a theater boo as loudly as they did when that stinking crap of a preview flew by.

Have to agree. If the trailer is a true indication of what the film will be, this will possibly be the worst movie ever made, in the entire history of film.

I've never heard a theater boo a TRAILER before, but they boo'd this thing. And justifiably so. Dancing, jumping, CGI babies do not a quality film make. Did we learn nothing from "Baby Geniuses"???

Everybody in the theatre booed after this trailer was over. It looks awful. Plain awful. Yet another pointless sequel(Dumb and Dumberer, anyone?) from New Line.

I made note of that too. I'm assuming that New Line held back on releasing sequels to D&D and the Mask because they'd hoped to get Carrey back to turn both of them into franchises. Several years down the road it was clear they'd never get him back, so they went ahead with these ideas. In both cases, it would have been better to leave well enough alone.

Same here. I just can't believe that there was a trailer shown for a movie that looks even worse than the Ashton Kutcher "Butterfly Effect" flick. You know...where he apparently time travels...by staring really hard at a spiral-bound notebook.

Worst trailer I've ever seen. And there's a lot of competition for that honor. I think I read somewhere this stars Jamie Kennedy? Kiss his so-called "career" goodbye...

Seemed more like a teaser than a trailer to me.

How do they do a second one? Is this some kind of a prequel, because as far as I remember
Spoiler:
Eric Stoltz's character dies at the end of the first one.
But I guess the main question I have is, did they get Cher back for this one, because if she's in, I am so there.

If they even get Sam Elliott back I'm there.

The trailer is here:

Wow, that is pretty bad. Why go the baby route? I think I'd rather watch a complete rehash with Jamie Kennedy doing a poor Carrey imitation than this. Jamie should stick to playing pranks on people.

Just watched the teaser. Definitely looks like a movie to avoid, and I can understand why all the booing at the LOTR showings.

Probably the worst trailer I've ever seen... I can't believe after the complete flop that was Dumb and Dumberer that New Line would do this AGAIN!!!!! They would have been better off leaving the baby footage out...that was horrid.

What a waste of money! Different audience for this movie than the first.

I didn't even realize that Dumb and Dumberer didn't have Jeff Daniels or Jim Carrey!

Guess I'll pass on that one. I also noticed it was #81 on the IMDB list of worst movies ever.

Usually trailers make some kind of sense. The baby makes faces. Why has that got to do with anything? How does the relate to the Mask? He/she's not wearing a mask.

I was the only one that Booed. But i think in their silence they agreed with me. It baffles the mind at how pointless that trailer is.

New Hollywood Plan: Jim Carrey costs too much, make cheap sequels without him.

That's what I was thinking when I watched it.

That and "wow, this is worse than the Garfield trailer!"

Well it was probably in development before Dumb and Dumberer cam out, and besides, there's no real reason the Mask 2 can suck like D & D.

Having now watched the trailer, I am not impressed. But I wonder if the baby is even in the movie. I mean many teasers use stuff not in the movie (I'm thinking of Godzilla). Even if it is in there, it's less than a minute of actual footage. Doesn't mean the movie will suck, but doesn't get me to watch the movie either.

I must say that I feel dumber now having watched that. I feel pain, and the only way to relieve it is to poor bleach into my retinas.

I'm guessing that the baby is Stanley Ipkisses' son? Maybe through genetics he has the power of the mask? Or maybe the guy cutting the trailer was drunk and thought the movie was Baby's Day Out 2.

Who knows ?
