Activision Anthology GBA anyone?

Did anyone pick up AA for the GBA yet? If so, any comments? Looks like a killer cart--50+ killer classic games, score saves, unlockables, etc. Seems like it would be kinda like Warioware after the ADD meds worked their magic.

If I find it I'll report back--none at BB yesterday. And is it $30 everywhere?

Where did you see information on this? No one seems to carry it, and the Activision site only mentions it as available for the PS2.

It's definitely out. The Gamestop I just checked out had sold out though. I am determined to find it today. Supposedly better than the PS2 version (being portable helps!!) with about 6-7 original 'homebrew' games and several others added which aren't on the PS2 version. Plus you can earn patches just like in the old days...

Another title to cross off on my "Reasons to MAYBE buy a PS2 in the future.."!

This is going to be great as a portable. Looking forward to the homebrews most!

The extra games on the GBA version are a bunch of relatively recent "homebrew" titles:

Climber 5
Okie Dokie
Oystron
Skeleton+
SpaceThreat Deluxe
Vault Assault
Video Euchre

However, two games from the PS2 version (Atlantis and Demon Attack) have been removed for copyright reasons.

Demon Attack!! Those bitches!! That was the only reason for me to buy this damn thing! I used to play that for hours on my 2600.

Okie Dokie? What is that? A spin off of Hannibal?

PS2 came out over a year ago, GBA came out less then 3 days ago. What next? Mario 3 for NES is $5 and Mario Advance 4 is $30 new.... weird, eh?

That is really too bad. When did Activision get the rights to those Imagic titles in the first place? Imagic should be trying to get as much play out of these titles in this arena as possible IMHO!

I'd LOVE to have Microsurgeon on my GBA!!

Pivcked it up yesterday at EB. This cart is gonna be glued to my SP for a *long* time. (Longer than WarioWare) These oldies are still tough! Gotta get patches, and play lotsa games I never did before. Hi score saves are a bonus. THis is probably the best-done retro collection on the GBA yet! (Although Konami is still up there...)

BUY THIS!!!!!!!!! too much........

Anyone know where I can find a list of what games are included.

I know River Raid, Pitfall, and keystone kapers is on it
which makes it worth it for that alone.

anyone know what else?

So seven new games (homebrew) and minus 2 games.. so I guess the GBA version has 5 more than the PS2.. unless there were some that weren't on the PS2 version..

Hope the homebrews are good!!

I did notice that there's no mention of Adventure, which was on the PS2 version.
Damn, I used to love that game!

Can anyone who has the GBA version confirm whether it's included or not.

I find it hard to beleive Adventure was on the PS2 version since it was an Atari game, not Activision.. or am I'm lsoing my memory?

No Atari games, unfortunately, on this or the PS2 version. No Adventure.

Hopefully if this sells well they will license those and use the same engine to do another collection!

If you want adventure, it's out on a pack for the PC - Atari 80 classic games in one. This features about 25 Arcade titles and the rest are Atari 2600 games - all are running off emulation. The box is pretty gaudy and with a title like Atari 80 Classic Games in one, you would think it was shovelware - but it's actually a great package and was done by Digital Eclipse, the original emulation guys.

You're not, I am.

I confused this collection with the one on my Atari joystick game system thingie.
Oops!
I guess I still get to play Adventure now.

OK, so what Activision games are y'all playing? Right now my rotation includes Chopper Command (shades of Defender), Beamrider (shades of Tempest), River Raid (not unlike Xevious), and Spider Fighter (like Space Invaders gone nuts). These games are holding up to the test of time in terms of addictive quality. (And no, I have not yet earned a single patch.) I'm also toying with Skiing and Fishing Derby. Dragster is good for an instant WarioWare-type fix.

What other faves are y'all playing? *GREAT* cart!!!
