half.com vs amazon marketplace

I've never sold on Amazon, but the main difference as far as I can tell is that Half.com charges 15%, whereas Amazon charges 15 plus .99. Both give you a shipping/postage allowance. Half.com is being merged into Ebay, I think by the end of next year. Half.com does have a tiered price structure, fee changes to like 10% or something for items over 50 bucks, etc.

I never used Amazon but Half.com seems to get a lot of traffic for selling DVDs. Usually I sell most DVDs quickly if they are priced competitively with other sellers.

People will actually pay slightly more for an item at Amazon. So I do ALL of my selling there. I've also had better luck buying from Amazon marketplace; IMO, it gets a higher quality of seller...come to think of it, the above two statements may have something to do with each other!

I did experiments with both almost an year back and have to say Amazon marketplace. You may pay .99 extra in commission but your DVDs will go at higher prices and faster than at Half.com.
I also buy a lot of used DVDs and have to say I prefer amazon unless there is a coupon i can use at half.com!

I might have to give it a shot.
The "Buy Now" feature on eBay is a poor substitution for Half.com. With the amount of traffic eBay gets, I don't see how you will be able to find the kind of deals you could on Half.
Half.com's demise will be Amazon Marketplace's boon.
