Can a Sony Playstation 2 work w a TV/VCR Combo?
My son has a TV/VCR in his room that will not work with a DVD player. I have heard rumors that a Sony Playstation 2 will work with a TV/VCR Combo.
Does anyone know if this is true?

As long as it has A/V in, then yes, you're good to go.

Why won't a DVD player work with his combo?
I have a TV/VCR combo and my DVD player works fine.
Are you trying to say that his TV doesn't have A/V inputs?
Still not a problem - buy an RF modulator. It will transform the A/V outputs of any DVD player into a cable signal.
If a PS2 will work, then a DVD player will work as well.

You can hook up a PS2 and play the games through a VCR just fine, but if you try and run a DVD on the same PS2, it will come out all distorted. Since it's a combo system, the inputs are probably run through the VCR portion of it, and we all know you can't hook up a DVD player to a VCR due to the Macrovision issues.
