I was considering getting xbox for a few games. rainbow 6 would have been one of them. I would have also bought amped 2.
I was wondering if there was any need to buy the xbox live kit if I got those 2 games. does the rainbow 6 headset come with the little module that connects to the controller? if not, can I get that thing anywhere?

I didn't purchase the pack with the headset in it (already had XBLive), but I can't imagine them not including the controller adapter. There's no way to use the headset without it.

the R63 headset is all one piece and plugs into the controller without needing that module thing.

Is it better than the original XBL headset?

A guy I work with got the set. He likes the rb6 headset better than the ms original one once he bent it some to get shaped right.

cowboy, the R63 headset is leaps and bounds above the MS XBL headset, I have both but usually only use the R6:3 headset now

I prefer the original one. The R6 set feels too tight and I like having the volume on the part that plugs into the joystick, not hanging down as part of the cord. The Mad Catz one is also pretty inferior.

Some people prefer the MS one and some prefer the Ubisoft one. It really depends on personal preference. Oh, and the box with the headset looks cooler too. ;p

Shape and comfort aside, does the R6 headset perform better?
Less voice command interpretation errors for single player? etc...

They both perform pretty much the same to me.

sound the same here. Same with the Mad Catz if you want a cheapie ($10).

what if I break the rs6 headset? would I be able to plug it into the module that comes with rs6? I've already broken 2 socom headsets. I don't know how the wires keep getting pulled out.

R6 headset is 1 piece- no module that plugs into joystick and headset that plugs into module.
Mad Catz is just headphones- they require the module from the original headset.

I tried out the Mad Catz headphones because it looked cool and was only $7.99. I threw it out 30 minutes later. It hurt like hell
