Justice League (12/06)

So we got to see the return of the Royal Flush gang and GL and Hawkgirl hooking up. I wonder if they will continue to use their storyline in upcoming shows. Hopefully. Not nearly as good an episode as last week, but still one of the best damn comic cartoon shows.

It was good. GL is now making wire-cutters with the ring. I wish they'ld make up their minds already.

I didn't really buy into the whole "the bomb stopped my heart" thing- the ring is supposed to prevent that.

I'm sure they will.
Spoiler:
Hawkman is going to be in the season finale.

Also, the next episode is possibly the last episode before the season finale and features the return of Paul Dini.

Man I wish they would hurry up and release a Boxset

The eps you guys have been talking about have been so interesting. But I can't see them now.

I know that you can't see me, but I'm doing a happy little dance right now. (Even with a recently dislocated knee.)

Great news!

As far as this week's episode is concerned, I think it's one of the very best they've done. Definitely in the top 3 or so for this series.

Joker was hilarious in this one, but I feel this was kind of a so-so episode, at least compared to the rest of this season. The ending was really good though - for the payoff and the comedy.

Always great to see Joker play a big role. After complaining to myself how slow they seem to be protraying Flash, he finally lived up to his abilities for a brief while in this episode.

The Joker must have stole a page or two from Vince McMahon.

The only complaint about this season is that they are showing the episodes too fast. Seeing the whole story on one night is great but this means that the new episodes will be used up in half the time and then there is the year wait before new episodes are made.

They should have just shown the 1/2 hour episodes and streatched the season out into next year. Now it is over except for 2 weeks.

The problem with that is since they are really 1 hour shows anyway. Breaking them up into 30 minute shows makes you feel cheated, because it's a whole week until the next one.

Have they shown Hawk Girl without her mask on before? She's pretty hot .... for a cartoon character...

Yeah, it would be nice if they realized that adults who want complete seasons are interested in these types of programs, instead of just tossing off single-disc collections of random episodes like they're VHS cassettes intended to placate toddlers.

Although I would also prefer a full-season boxset, I have to defend one small point with their releases so far: all three releases have been first season episodes in broadcast order and not "random".

Just got done watching it (thanks Tivo!) ... it was a very good episode. Not as good as last weeks, but still good in its own right.

Liked seeing the continuation of the GL/Hawkgirl storyline as well.

I agree with all the comments. Great episodes all season so far. I hope 10 (from the Royal Flush gang) eventually gets the upgrade like in Batman Beyond. For some reason I was disappointed that he was not an android in these episodes. Was 10 an android in the comics or was that a Batman Beyond thing? Good stuff throughout though.

You've missed almost a season and three quarters of damn good comic cartoon.

I didn't have a problem with that part because they showed him using the ring to move/protect Hawkgirl. That's why it wasn't protecting him when the bomb went off.

I thought Hawkgirl was an actual hawk girl, and that wasn't a mask. Imagine my surprise when GL pulled her mask off!

I was thinking the same thing. She's an alien after all.

The ring, (at least the Hal Jordan era ring) automatically protects the wearer, even if they're unconscious. One of the classic storylines (used partly for an episode last season) had John mistakenly destroy a planet while he and J'onn watched. They both survived.

I realize that anything goes in cartoon tho.

I actually thought Batman would have something to protect himself in that girl's presence. I just figured since he knew the Joker bought that air time that he would know about the R. Flush gang, therefore being ready to go against the girl.

Are the Royal Flush Gang from the comics? The first I heard of them was from Batman Beyond, and I thought they were made up for that timeline. Guess I was wrong...

I've seen them in comics before - for comedic effect in the JL (I/E). Not sure if they appeared before that.

The original royal flush gang first appeared as adversaries of the silver age jla (mid 1960's).
