I'm getting Xbox live early next week, I have games that allow 2 month trials, now I'm wondering, if I use the 2 month trail and make a gamertag, once the 2 months are up, I would use the year's subscription to live I have in my starter kit, now when you renew with the year subscription, does it allow you to retain the gamertag you've been using in the 2 month trial?

I don't see why not.... There is a number for XBL customer service you can call for help. Unfortunately, I don't have that number written down anywhere :(

Yes you can. That's the whole idea of the promotion.
You just go to the screen for your subscription and enter your 1 year code and it'll be set for a "free" renewal at the end of the 2 month period.

Ive been thinking about Xbox live as well, but I decided against it. I barely have enough time to play PC online games. PGR2 is awesome even without xbox online. Valen, you play R63 on the PC as well? If you do let me know, Ive been playing that for a couple of months now.

The problem I have with XBL is not that it is too expensive (for what you paid, it is a very well thought out service). The problem is that I suck at most of the games and the competition is just fierce!
I have only won a few times since getting on XBL with Top Spin... most of the time I won b/c I was playing a total newbie. Otherwise, I lose in straight sets without ever winning one point. I dunno, I just can't compete with kids these days who can hone their skills to razor sharp and just destroy me like a puppy dog! :)

Well Deathmatches and dogfights are good even if you suck because everyone gets at least a few kills in, Larger races are also good because there's always a chance you'll be in the thick of things evn if you don't race with others.
Even better is if you have a good friend or two to hook up with. My best friend and I play GR:IT all the time and it doesn't matter that I'm pretty lame since we have a great time.
But yes, playing a one-on-one like Top Spin against a stranger can be pretty bad if you're not up to speed.

Lateralus, I used to play and adored R63 on the pc alot, but the problem was, they released the game too early, and it had bugs, so we always had to download patches, and what happened was, the frame rate got spoiled, and it wasn't the smooth flowing game as when it started out, thats why I'm enjoying R63, the pc game feels inferrior to me now, but it was so much fun when it started out.
I would like to play against you, but my time naturally would be spent on xbox live now, but I do think track mania, the new pc game where u create tracks and race against each other is awsome on pc, check it out, I'm gonna do a thread on it.
