New World Poker Tour: Dec 10th
http://www.worldpokertour.com/promot...ht/index.phtml
I'll definitely be tuning in.
December 10, 2003 is WPT Ladies Night
9 PM E/P on Travel Channel
In a special, invitation-only event at the Bicycle Casino in Los Angeles, six of the hottest women in poker battle it out on the World Poker Tour stage – for bragging rights and the WPT Ladies’ Night title… plus a guaranteed seat in the $25,000 WPT Championship event, worth millions. Ladies’ Night marks the first women’s title in the history of televised poker. The players are; Annie Duke, Maureen Feduniak, Clonie Gowen, Jennifer Harman, Kathy Liebert, and Evelyn Ng.
"The great poker instincts demonstrated at the tables by the female players during the production of the first season of the WPT, really served as the genesis of the World Poker Tour Ladies' special," said Steve Lipscomb, CEO and founder of the World Poker Tour. "These women consistently played at the highest level of competition, and their credentials speak for themselves. We at the World Poker Tour felt it was high time they had their own spotlight."

Me too! Thanks for posting this, I might have missed.
I wonder if they’ll go against “tradition” and show a little Omaha, which I believe Annie Duke excels at.
Nah, that’ll never happen.

Man, that's better than Big Slick, or even Pocket Rockets!
Hope they keep Sexton and Van Patten as hosts.
Honk!

Granted, she played them well, and who knows what hands we didn't get to see, but holy crap, Clonie drew some lucky cards all through the night. Aside from the back-to-backs she dropped to Evelyn before making her final run, every card fell her way.
Fun episode.

To beat the top players, sometimes you just have to relying on out-drawing them once a showdown occurs.
I think the exit order was:
Jennifer (I crack up when she tries to give off her sad puppy eyes to set her traps.)
Maureen (she went in blind when her stack got super low)
Kathy (she called Clonie way too quick, and paid the price)
Annie (took too many bad beats in a row and squandered her chip lead)
Evelyn (she bet aggressively before the flop a lot and stole a lot of pots when she sensed weakness in others)
Clonie (was up, was down, and finally outdrew Evelyn at the end).
Most of the players played pretty aggressively. Annie got unlucky towards the end.
When it gets downto 3 or 2 players, play is always pretty aggressive, but the thing was was that there were so many showdowns (calls) on all-ins because each player wanted to end it quick, but the cards went back and forth, and since neither were backing down in the all-ins, the cards played out, otherwise, a player who goes all-in and the other one just gets bled by the aggressive play and these players know that isn't a good strategy either in high stakes poker.

the ladies last nite had to play aggressive because the ante and blinds increased so fast. the short stacks had to make moves in order to avoid being blinded out. the losers lounge and the money falling on the table was lame as hell.
i hope we see more of Milfie, i mean Clonie, in future WPT shows.

2) Ask
I've played in two tournaments in the past week, and know of at least 10 others in my area.
'Course, if you got no casino, you're kinda SOL.

actually, you might want to check your local newspaper. There is a "Hold 'Em Club" in my town- who put on tournies all the time.
I answered the ad from the classified section...
good luck!
