ReplayTV vs. Tivo
Help me with your opinion about the two of these. I feel I have come to a good selection, but would like non-biased feedback before you answer.
By the way, I have non-HD gear now and will upgrade to HD this next year, so keep this in mind if you feel a standalone Replay TV or TiVo Standalone would be better than any DVR linked to the service provider (DirecTV w/ TiVo)

If you're upgrading to HD in the next year, don't buy any of the things you have listed. The current TiVo and Replays can't record HD signals.
The HD DirecTiVo should be out 1Q or 2Q next year.

Which sounds expensive, but: it's supposed to have 4 tuners, two for OTA and two for DirecTV. It can only record on two at a time though. Also, it'll have a pretty big hard drive to store all that HD content. Considering a HD receiver can run $300-$500 if you buy it and a TiVo can be $200 plus $300 lifetime, that price isn't all bad.

I'm also pondering upgrading to HD, but I would be severely unhappy if my HD DirectTiVo or whatever began to lose features as it was autoupdating itself over time.
That, and the networks who have seriously been complaining about lost revenue due to being able to skip commercials and such, could, in my opinion, lead to some interesting developments in the next few years.

The HD Tivos are supposed to come with the cp built in. Possibly even HDMI, not sure.
Why isn't...
"Keep Dish Network and get a 510 or 721 receiver"
...in the poll?
Although I personally switched to Direct and got a DTivo, 2 of them now and waiting for an HD version to be #3.

BTW, its functionality was great, but the $10/month fee was ridiculous.
