"Hitchcock Thrillers" collection. Any good?
DDD for one sells this Hitchcock collection for a low price, which left me wondering about the quality. The movies (The Lady Vanishes, Secret Agent, The Man Who Knew Too Much) are no doubt good, but are the transfers utter crap? The set is produced by "Vintage Home Entertainment".
Also, does anyone know how many discs the set has? I left a query about the set at amazon.com, but they haven't replied thus far.
Thanks in advance.

A better bet is Brentwood's Alfred Hitchcock 10 Movie set, which contains all of the above plus 7 other movies, and 2 eps of his TV series. It can be found for as little as $12.99

These DVD editions have crappy sound and video, but it's the only way to get lots of his earlier work. I currently have 8 of the older DVDs, but they aren't the VHE versions.
I'd recommend this (which is more or less what I have, but I didn't get the boxed set):

But I'd also recommend looking into his Criterion Collection releases also.
