Scream: NTSC anamorphic?
Hey all,
i was just wondering if there was an actual good version of Scream (the first one) released anamorphically in NTSC??? I know that the directors cut was the one released in Japan/Korea but the quality was supposed to suck. Is there a good release of this?
I just purchased the box set and was trying to find the best ones to get rid of and how to optimize it.
Thanks!

I have the region 3 Korean Scream. It is indeed anamorphic and NTSC and it does indeed suck. Got mine from Koreadvds.com.
I don't know if this is an upconvert ffrom a non anamorphic master or a PAL convert but it has tons of shimmering. It just reekes of video problems. Avoid the R3 Korean disc.
Not sure about Japan. Maybe someone else can answer that one.

A fair amount of shimmer on the Japan R2jp. Maybe it's the same as the Korean.
With that said, I still found it watchable and worthwhile having [if only for bragging rights - which is strange as I hate the film. LOL]

I'm pretty sure the Japanese R2 is "fake" anamorphic...
I have the older R1 Scream non-anamorphic and when compared againt the R2 Japanese anamorphic (which I also own) there doesn't seem to be more detail and the shimmers and things like that are all in the same places..
which leads me to believe they just took the R1 transfer and upconverted it..
