I would just like to put this out there...

Since this is sure to be a monumental event in the history of Science Fiction as we know it, I am making sure to record this epic behind the scenes look at a show which will redefine the way we think about Science Fiction forever.

I will be recording it in the following formats:
  • DVD
  • VHS
  • VCD
  • SVCD
  • AVI
  • mp2
  • XVCD
  • MPEG
  • CVD
  • XSVCD
  • DivX
  • XviD
  • WAV
  • mp3
  • CD
  • Cassette
  • Vinyl
  • 8 Track
The video formats will be both NTSC & PAL. Please specifiy which format you'd like it in. I would also suggest you request two copies. It's almost a given that you'll be watching this special [and the movies] over & over so it'd be to your benefit to have a backup copy.

Thank you.

I still think Patrick MacGoohan should sue Ron Moore for using a characater named "Number Six"!

"I am not a number! I am a Cylon in a supermodel disguise!"

No no no no no...

This is a commercial "behind the scenes" look at "this reimagined classic".

The series does not debut until 12/8.

As long as we're asking for formats, how about Betamax?

I think I still have a player in storage somewhere..........

I have a feeling we’re going to be pleasantly surprised.

The only reason we like the original series is because of the nostalgia factor. It was crap. But, hey, it was the only thing we had on the tube that came anywhere close to Star Wars. And it was the fun kinda crap, like Batman.

When measuring the new show, it would be helpful to reevaluate the quality of the original.

“I play Starbuck. Get over it.” Pretty much sums it up.

I think that if we watch it without comparing it to the original it will be decent, but if we look at it as a remake and compare it to the original we'll have some bad feelings. therefore I'm going to watch as if it was just a new science fiction show

I'm using the general form of "we" and not refering specifically to any group of people

I'm not sure I can forgive them getting rid of the red-eye'd Cylons (as we knew them). Do we really need another Six of Nine? Um, that may be the dumbest question I've ever asked. OF COURSE WE DO!

Here's the synopsis of this special, if anyone like myself was curious what it was:

Go behind the scenes of the ragtag fugitive fleet with this exclusive new special — and learn the secrets of the story, stars and special effects of SCI FI's new Battlestar Galactica miniseries event! Screenwriter Ron Moore, director Michael Rymer and stars Edward James Olmos, Mary McDonnell and others are your guides through never-before-seen footage as they give you the lowdown on this reimagined classic.
The same page says the premiere of the first installment of the miniseries is December 8.

I was wondering when somebody was gonna mention something like that.

If all else fails, give us BBIES!!

I'm with mike on this. Well, I'm gonna try and keep an open mind. Shouldn't be too hard: the series was so gawdawful. But, hey, it was the best we had at the time. Unless you wanna count Space: 1949.

Any side bets on whether or not they use the line, "By your command"?

Whats this "we" white man? I enjoy it because it's a pretty solid show and not because of any rose tinted glasses of my youth.

So the one thing that worries me - no, of the several things that worry me - is that they havent shown the Cylons yet. I'm fearing some kind of Rolland and Emmerich Godzilla disaster, where they keep the Creature/Bad Guys under wraps as long as possible because what they did to them makes them suck beyond belief.

So, can someone point me to pics of the Cylons?

Really, I'm not trying to, but everything I've read about this has been bad. I'll probably watch it, just to see if it is as bad as the reviews I have read say it is.

according to a short part of the special
Spoiler:
there will also be pure robot cylons, that have guns in their arms, didn't see a front view to see if they have the red eye. And I think they showed the red eye going back and forth on part of the cyclon fighters

I think she's just an infiltrator, like a T800, or the guy in the Wolfman Jack Holloween episode of Galactica 1980

I totally agree. I haven't read his books yet but heard they are good, and rumor from those who saw it said his trailer was really good too

First positive review: TVGuide gives it a 9/10.

Don't know whether that's a good thing or a bad thing.
