On Adult Swim tonight, they responded to the new "Space Ghost: Coast to Coast" set's missing episodes. They basically confirmed that it is not a full season because certain stars would not give them video rights without getting paid a lot of money.
Then they said that they will be having a marathon in January of all the episodes not included in the set, and said that bootleggers should be ready.
Pretty cool of them I thought.

They had to get the rights to show the episodes from each person appearing on it? Unbelievable.
I skipped the box set because of the missing episodes and it looks like I will just stick with the episodes I downloaded from the DAP years ago.

For anyone wondering, the following guest stars were in the episodes not in the set:
Self Help: Dr. Joyce Brothers, Rich Hall, Anka Radakovich
The Mask: Jim Carrey, Charles Russell (This ep was a promo for The Mask and air at the end of the movie on VHS)
Gum, Disease: Branford Marsalis, Danny Bonaduce
A Space Ghost Christmas: Kevin Meaney
President's Day Nightmare: Craig McCracken, Pat Ventura, Van Partible, Eugene Mattos, Genndy Tartakovsky, Dian Parkinson (This ep was a promo for toonami and is not included because of that)
Le Livre D'Histoire: Jim Carrey, Charles Russell, James Kirkconnell, Carl Clark

Come on...which one of these ultra-famous super-ego's would have denied the rights?
And how ridiculous that they don't get advance rights when filming the episode. That's just lunacy.

Exactly what I was thinking. I was going to say that they have a lot of respect for their fans, but then I remembered those promos they run where the A.S. characters mock actual emails and message board posts Cartoon Network receives...
Imagine if they reran the marathon twice, only with cast/creator commentary the second time. Then they could talk about why the man that gave the world "Sniglets" and a guy who has picked up transvestite hookers think they are too big to appear on their DVDs. (Just kidding, of course. I have no idea that they are the two that wouldn't sign off).
Have they announced when Sealab is coming out yet?

That kinda sucks, but oh well. I didnt even know it was missing episodes. That still wont stop me from picking up the sets eventually.
