GBA : Pac Man Collection, Namco Museum, Konami Arcade, Frogger's Adventures -- $9.99 Each
Beyblade, Super Mario World : SMA 2 -- $22.99 Each

Target
PS2
Activison Anthology, Spyro, Super Trucks Racing -- $9.99 (special purchase) (I'm all over that Activision deal)
Xbox
Halo $28.88
All PH Games $15 Each
Gamecube
Viewtiful Joe $34.88 Luigi's Mansion, Starfox Adventure $17.88 Each
GBA
Cat in the Hat $24.88
Pac Man and Konami Arcade $9.88 Each

Wolverine's Revenge (all systems) $5 with purchase of X2.
Nothing else of note.

I guess it goes without saying, but don't forget to use the $5 off Gamer's coupon to drop it to $17.99. It's a terrific game, one of the best ever.

BTW I picked up the Activision Anthology today. I'd been sitting on the fence about this one for a long time. Can I just say that it's AWESOME. It's so much fun and it's such a deal for $10. I remember saving for weeks to buy games like River Raid and Chopper Command and to have them all for $10 is unbelievable. Buy it, you won't regret it.

I'd be all over that Activision Anthology too but I really want to get the GBA version! Think it's worth getting both?

PS2 version Price 9.99 Target this week, 19.99 normally

48 games

Includes Kabobber and Thwocker, which were never released on the Atari 2600 but were in development.

80's soundtrack featuring: Twisted Sister, A-Ha, Soft Cell etc.(can be turned off)

Unlockables including: commercials, sew-on patches recreated in digital form, gameplay modes that affects the screen as you play it etc.

The way it's worded, the review seems to say you can't record high scores, not sure on it though.

GBA version Price 29.99

56 games including hombrewed and Activision prototypes

Some never released on other consoles

For the two player games, you can hook up a second GBA with the link cable and use it as the second joystick (you only need one copy of the Game Pak to do this.)
Info from Atariage forums

pictures of the original cartridges and box artwork, text from the manuals, patches

Will save your high scores

No 80's soundtrack due to licensing problems

And the 2600 emulation? Well, we're hoping that the development team is still squeezing some optimizations into the Game Boy Advance code, since many games seem to be running at a little more than half speed in the current build.

Picked up the Activision Anthology this morning. Two things:

1. We would be better off with some of these games not being ported anymore heh, some are just awful, although there is a few gems that never get old.

2. Whoever designed the control for Kaboom needs to be kicked in the nads for screwing up a great game.

It was worth 9.99 just for Keystone Kapers, Megamania, River Raid, Demon Attack, H.E.R.O. and Spider Fighter though, so I'm happy.

I don't suppose the Activision Anthology is on either Xbox or Gamecube? It sounds really fun.

PS2 only as far as I'm aware.

Intellivision Lives is coming or has been released already to the PS2 and Xbox though, not the same games but still retro.

Not PS2 only, also GBA!

Thanks for the info Galanthas! I saw a quote from the developers that they got all games running at 90% or higher, which sounds good to me.

Still tempted to get both though

Hell, it's worth $10 just for the soundtrack. My advice : get the Xbox version now and wait on the GBA one. It's $30 now but will rapidly drop to the $15 range (old-school compilations always do). Pick it up then (if you're not sick of the games by then).

I was suprised that I couldn't find this flying game that Activision put out late in the 2600's life. I saved up for a long time since this was supposed to be so revolutionary (turns out, they used a shadow of the airplane that got smaller as the plane rose!). Anyone know what that game was called?

I don't think it's out for Xbox (nor do I have one) but I guess you mean PS2

Is the flying game you are talking about Space Shuttle? That's the only thing that comes to mind right now....

BTW, if I'm not sick of the games by now I probably won't ever be

Oops. Xbox on the brain I guess. tth:

Nope. It's not barnstorming either. It was like a flying slolem game. Can't remember the name of it for the life of me. I remeber I had that Space Shuttle game as well and hated it. Thought it was so boring. Haven't tried it on the compilation yet.

Yeah, some of them are still great. I was sporting this big goofy grin while playing River Raid and my wife walked in and said "It's not enough that you have to get every state-of-the-art new game? You've got to play those ugly old ones as well?" Ummm... yes.

Yup. I figured it out when I got home. It wasn't very impressive when I bought it and hasn't aged well.
On the opther hand, who knew that Boxing would be a half-decent game all these years later?

All right, I went and picked up the Activision Anthology for $10 at Target.

The most ridiculous part is I probably have about 10 Atari 2600s and 800 games in my garage, but this is so much more convenient.

Still, nothing beats the paddle controllers for Kaboom! and Indy 500

(BTW before someone corrects me I do know that Indy 500 uses the 'Driving controllers' not the paddles )
