Favorite Bruce Lee movie?

I have been watching Bruce Lee movies over and over and over and over again since I was 7 years old. Unlike other martial arts movie stars, I never ever get tired of watching this man fight on screen. His screen presence and charisma is parallel to no one! Jet Li? Jacky Chan? Sonny Chiba? PLEASE! Those guys are good but they're not legendary!

That being said, what is your all time FAVORITE Bruce Lee film? The one that you could sit and watch all day long, 7 days a week and still enjoy it as much as you did the first time you saw it? For me, it's a tie between Way of the Dragon and Enter the Dragon.

Enter the Dragon.

I've seen it easily 50+ times and it NEVER gets old to me.

My second favorite would be Fists of Fury (aka The Chinese Connection).

Way Of The Dragon is also known as Return Of The Dragon, right? If so, then Enter The Dragon is my pick.

Yes Way is the original name for "Return..." Why they decided to change the name is beyond me.

The Chinese Connection, like someone said earlier, is Fist of Fury.

My pick goes to Way of the Dragon since that IMO had the best fight scenes.

Fist of Fury is by far my favorite. I prefer the traditional period-piece kungfu movies a lot more--the modern settings just don't appeal to me.

I'm a huge fan of martial arts movies, but Enter the Dragon is nowhere on my list of favorites. I know I'm in the minority on this one ,but it just seems to me like there's a lot of bad dialogue and cheesy delivery (even for a kungfu movie), and I just couldn't take Mr. Han seriously as a realistic challenge to Bruce. Also, maybe because the Pink Panther movies parodied Enter the Dragon so much, I can't help but flash back to those movies and chuckle whenever I see scenes from Enter the Dragon.

Great points guys! How many of you deep down think that Game of death, in its entirety, is a good movie and is a guilty pleasur of yours, even though the real Bruce was only present during the end? Am I the only one that has a soft spot for GoD? I mean, the stunt-double wasn't Bruce of course, but IMO he did a fantastic job of displaying his own skills and I actually enjoy watching his fights, as well as Bruce's.

I mean C'mon...when I first saw the infamous "Locker Room" scene I was freakin BLOWN AWAY!!! The music, the choreography, etc are all top notch! And you know what else? Game of Death has the absolutel BEST ending credits of any movie I've EVER seen!!! The collage of different scenes from Bruce's movies, couple with the beatiful, catchy "Will this be the Song, I'll be Singing...Tooomorrow" tune was a marriage made in heaven! My buddy and I have rewinded those ending credits AT LEAST 300 times!!!! It's just a flawless piece of editing!

I can't believe so many of you consider Enter the Dragon his best. It's very good, no doubt, but my ranking of his films is, in order, Return of the Dragon, Fists of Fury, Chinese Connection, Enter the Dragon, and, not even worth mentioning, Game of Death.

"Enter..." may be his most polished film, but I find the martial arts in the other three (ignoring "Game...") more enthralling. Not only does "Return..." feature the classic Coliseum/Norris showdown, but it's chock full of other showcase fights. There's an incredible moment (move) during Lee's fight with Bob Wall, where he, in a matter of a split second, side-kicks Wall's calf and follows it up with one to the head.

Re: Favorite Bruce Lee movie?

Good point. I've thought for along time that ENTER was the best film, but you may be right, it's mostly the most polished film.

Honestly, I thought Game of Death had the best storyline. The original as shown in the documentary had great fight scenes but not much story during it. Just fighting to each floor. The released Game of Death had a great intro, an intriguing story mixed with a little bit of reality/rumor, and had great scenes. The horrendous editing is what makes it so offensive.

I still haven't seen RETURN of the Dragon. I think I liked The Chinese Connection the best.

The Big Boss was suppose to be named The Chinese Connection which made more sense since it was a play on the French Connection title. Fist of Fury was suppose to be retitled Fists of Fury. If the story is to be believed the names on the film cans were somehow switched when they were delivered to the States. WotD was released in 1974 and was renamed Return to capitalize on the popularity of EtD.

A couple of cut scenes from The Big Boss that never made it onto any media but was shown theatrically.
