won't it be sad when...(re: LOTR)

you see Return of the King, and then realize the trilogy is over?

And then even after the EE in November, 2004, we'll realize, with ultimate finality, it is truely over. nothing ever more from the Peter Jackson's version of LOTR.
no more Gandalf, Frodo, Aragorn, Gollum, Sam, Legolas, Gimli.

I cant wait to see ROTK, but i almost can for these reasons. it will be very sad the day after.

but, then again, we should all realize how lucky we are to see these great books brought to life in a spectacular way.

Since i wasnt alive for the orig. SW films when they came out(save for ROTJ), i imagine this feels similar.

so while it'll be sad when its over, knowing nothing else is coming, we should be grateful that such a story was brought to the screen in the only way that could do it justice.

i cant wait for PJ's King Kong!

There is always hope for The Hobbit, but there is always fear it could turn out to be like Episode 1, in relation to the original Star Wars trilogy.

Its been a great 3 year run....with always having something to look forward too.

Eh...at least it will be three years by 2004 for the EE of ROTK.

I'd love to see PJ do an updated version of The Hobbit.

I don't feel sad, Everything that has a beginning has an end.

Seriously, it is a great run, and I derive so much enjoyment watching the films (and rewatching), and there are so many good materials to enjoy in the EE DVDs....

I saw a recent interview with Peter Jackson. He says he has some ideas for a new original trilogy that takes place several years after this one. He wants to do it, but he's taking a break from middle-earth. I didn't get any plot details, but apparently the main characters will be:

Spoiler:
A daughter of Sam and Rosie and the son of Aragorn and Arwen

Does it count as a spoinler if it's in the idea stage?

FYI . . . I thought I heard Jackson say that he was not counting out doing a version of The Hobbit, but that nothing has seriously been said about the possibility as of yet.

There's always stuff out "The Silmarillion" and "Untold Tales" that could be made.

I *think* Groucho is joking, kind of hard to tell, unless there's some reference I don't get.

And he wisely spoiled it because it DOES contain some spoilers for ROTK.

I think PJ said somewhere that the ROTK EE will be out in summer 2004? Not Nov. Anyone else read that?

Groucho's just pulling your leg.

As anyone who's listened to the TTT EE knows, PJ has announced that his next Middle-earth project will be a TV series about Treebeard and George the random Rohirrim. Together, they fight crime!
