Whee, 3 Criterions (inc. SotL) for ~$57 + a free disc!

Looking through the used bins occasionally pays off, I just picked up the Criterion Collection discs Silence of the Lambs, 6 Short Films of W.C. Fields, and The Bank Dick for 57 dollars, and also got the two-disc unrated cut of Terror Firmer free (Wherehouse Music has a buy 3 used get 1 free deal.)

I also grabbed 10 anime discs for ~68 dollars at a comic shop, so today was a very good (but expensive) day for me.

What are some of your great used deals?

My greatest deal was finding The hidden Fortress criterion at a pawn shop for $7. The second I saw the criterion label, I knew it had to be mine.

I picked up a copy of Lambs Criterion for $13 used. Also found a copy of Swamp Thing for about the same right after it was pulled, I watched it, enjoyed the boobies, and sold it for a nice profit.

I've gotten some pretty good deals on used DVDs in the past year or so:

$23 for Toy Story Ultimate Toy Box
$31 for X-Files Season 6 (which I then traded for Season 3)
$13 for Silence of the Lambs Criterion
$9 for Robocop Criterion
$7 for Pearl Harbor 4-disc Vista Series (sucky movie, awesome everything else!)
$11 for Snow White (OOP)
$29 for Sopranos Season 4
$24 for Six Feet Under Season 1
$32 for Band of Brothers (tin)

Man, I could go on and on. I've been pretty lucky so far...

Dude, 6 Short Films of W.C Fields and The Bank Dick can both be had for less than $20 each brand new. But good job getting Silence of the Lambs.

Got the Criterion of "Spinal Tap" for like $5 back in the Reel.com days back before I even knew what the Criterion Collection was. Also got the Brazil box set for about $20. I sure do miss that site.

What timing, fuzzy... I just picked up Shock Corridor CC for $10 at Half Price Books not half an hour ago.

But my biggest CC coup was Hitchcock's The 39 Steps for $7... Movie Trading Company had it in their system as the cheapo Laserlight version.

Man, Wherehouse Music is OOP and Criterion headquarters!

I just picked up Army of Darkness LE 2-disc, Hiroshima Mon Amour CC, By Brakhage: An Anthology CC, and the 5-disc set of the Honeymooners Classic 39 Episodes for ~80 bucks!

AoD LE for ~25
Hiroshima for ~25
Honeymooners for ~26
By Brakhage = free (buy 3, get 1.)
