so whats on your holiday wish list?

Just thought it would be fun to see what everyone else is hoping for regarding electronics/HT gear for Christmas. Also, comments about peoples lists are cool here...if you can think of better suggestions that would be great!

Im asking for either the ProntoNEO or the Harmony SST-768.

I want a Linksys router and the X-Box wireless adapter.

Anyone know how to connect my A/V receiver to my wireless connection so that I can listen to MP3 files on my computer over my home theater set up. I guess it doesnt have to connect to the receiver...i would just like to listen to my MP3 files over my stereo without using wires.

Im also asking for money to help me afford the Directv HD Tivo when it comes out.

any suggestions? what about you?

Not sure this is HT gear but I want either the new iRiver h-120 mp3 player or a Toshiba SD-P2500 portable dvd player...

Either one would be just fine

That my wife's old house in Colorado sells soon. That mortgage is killing us. Then I will actually be able to update my ancient sound system and watch one of my DVDs in DD or DTS finally.

It's not really a gift list, since I will be buying everything for myself.

Before the end of the year:
-Velodyne 15" Servo sub (to add to the 12" Vely I already have)

By the end of January:
-6 Paradigm Refrence speakers

... I like NOT having to buy Christmas gifts for a girlfriend/wife

The ipod was on my list too but definitely give the Iriver a look because it's pretty impressive...

What Velodyne model is the one you have currently?

As for my wish list, can it truly be a wish list? If so, then this or something from Cello Music and Film Systems please. Of course it would have to come with a new house also but that is only semantics.

Vely CHT-12. I'd really like to upgrade this as well, but one thing at a time. For any more HT info, feel free to visit the link in my sig.

I'll be getting a Sanyo Z2 projector soon for my new HT room, but I will be buying it myself. Little bit too expensive for a gift.

Let's see ...

I'm wishing for an Infocus x1 and a decent screen ... but then again. We'll probably be building a new house soon so that will have to wait. Gonna considering building a decent "media" room with good acoustics!

~ Wilson HT system

Barring the Wilson i'll take the Totem Shaman system instead!

My actual holiday wish list is already filled. It's coming early Feb. My third child. Healthy and happy for both mum and child is what I want ... and a Klondike bar.

Don't let the contractor design it themselves. Most "media rooms" built into new homes nowadays have lousy acoustics. Get a good design and have them build it to your specs.

I agree.

I have some friends in the HT install business and I have access to some programs that measure out optimum acoustic environment, LF measurements for rooms and all that jazz. Figure that I would spend some time to get it right since I wouldn't trust a contractor to do it for me - especially a contractor who's not a bit of an audiophile or have audiophile sense.
