Matchbox Twenty Live DVD out soon...
Hey all,
Was just on the MB20 official board and apparently 3 dates of the current tour have been recorded for a DVD to be released later this year. I dunno if this is going to be a "Rolling Stones" type box but that would sure be great. It'd be a good way of getting around never releasing Live In Australia on DVD.
I don't want this to turn into another thread of people bashing the band or not...but for those of you who may love them like me, this is awesome news. They're a fantastic band live...and fantastic period.

I will officially "out" myself here and proclaim myself to be a Matchbox 20 fan. I only like their singles, but I like them *all.* I got (legal) downloads of them from the paying sites, 'cause I didn't want the whole albums, but still....
I've always been a bit ashamed of liking their songs, but I do. I can't help it, dammit, I can't help it.
I tried to deny it at first, but you know, I think they're kinda poppy, and yet undeniably hooky. I refuse to be ashamed any longer.
I like Matchbox 20, dammit, (but part of me still thinks they suck). Point is, I'll check out the DVD, but purchase not guaranteed....

Laertes, I'd give them a chance. I think all their songs on the albums are quite good, and make the albums well-rounded. Also if you are big enough fan or not thrilled enough by the other tracks, check them out live in concert-they are amazing, I think it would only make you like mb20 more.

But to each his own. The band has a bad rap...and I don't understand why. They have had the greatest longevity of any rock band of late. And Billboard magazine said they were the best rock band of our generation. Interesting that they've become associated with Spice Girls type shame.
I've always liked them...seen them live around 7 or 8 times and think they're fantastic. Even met them a couple of times. Couldn't be a nicer group of guys.

Just in case anyone was interested...looks like this may not be available in stores. I just ordered my copy. Some nice specs...dts sound, etc.

I also don't care as much for their singles as for the other songs on their albums. They have some great stuff in between the radio-friendly songs. I haven't bought the most recent album yet, but I really liked the first two.
I think "Long Day" was their first single, but it never really got much airplay. "Push" was their first song to get popular.

It's also going to be shown in select Regal Cinemas the night before it is released if you want to see it on a big screen. Check back at www.RegalCM.com in another couple of weeks for info.

Got the info from the commercial I just edited for it!
It should hit the big screen at Regal Cinemas in a couple of weeks. I'm interested to see it in the theatre as it is the first anamorphic spot I've edited.
Sorry, I don't know anything about a Tori Amos DVD showing.
