Let the PS3 hype begin!
Knock yourselves out! There's also this news bite but I'm not sure if they're the same thing or not. One story claims it's the size of a TV and the other claims it's the size of a dishwasher! Either the TV is really big or the dishwasher is really small!
I wait with bated breath to hear the what you have to say about the 2,000,000,000,000 calculations per second!

I heard the PS3 won't have any disc errors 91 days after buying it....
This one will last 95 days!
Back on subject...
Is the PS3 still rumored to have connectivity between itself and the PSP?

I heard that it is going to have a built-in toaster, and washer/dryer. Maybe that is the reason it is the size of a dishwasher? Just think of the gaming opportunities you can have while doing a load of laundry!

That news article is wrong. Damn that thing spread like wildfire. PS3 is based on the upcoming Cell, and not PowerPC. In fact, Microsoft licenced the PowerPC chipset for the Xbox2, so this is really XBox2 Hype! Nintendo hasn't said who is doing their next chip, but they might stick with IBM. For those interested, the Cell will be shown in its first tech demo in March.
GizmoDVD - Yes, the PS3 and PSP will have connectivity, but no details as to what that means exactly. But they will connect!

"It is also the technology that will be the foundation of the next generation of gaming consoles from Nintendo (news - web sites) Co. (7974.OS) and Sony Corp (news - web sites). (6758.T), which IBM is working on, he said. "
The thread title should be let the next-gen console hype begin. Sony has proved to make inferior products (Xbox went south on me too) so, I am not as hyped about PS3 as the Nintendo succesor (good games, don't have to worry if it will work). I will buy a PS3 as well though, just for a few exclusive games and everything else will be on the Nintendo system or XBox2.

The cell is not based on the PowerPC chipset - in any way, shape, or form. If Sony uses a PowerPC chip for anything, it won't be the "foundation of next generation gaming console" for them as they already have said the Cell would be. That is where this article is wrong. That, and Nintendo hasn't announced anything regarding their next generation unit - not even who is going to design/build their chips. The lack of comments from them should have tipped you off, especially since you are a fan of their consoles.
And did it ever occur to you that if you have a broken PS2 and Xbox that it could be user error?

The PS3 will be made of the same material as the T-1000, thus it will be self repairing, the perfect assassin, and the best game console on the face of the earth.
