dont leave your lotr ee boxes in the sun...

just a heads up. all my DVDs are arranged in such a position that they are briefly in direct sunlight for a small portion of each day (that has sunlight :P). none of my other DVDs have any problem with this. but my once green fotr:ee box has now turned blue... and only where it is exposed to the sun. although im certain dvd boxes are not made with sunlight in mind, i thought we had left the times of ink and paper affected by sunlight in the past...

im thinking of calling new line and asking for a replacement box... i dont know what theyd say. but also... in some way the discoloration looks kind of cool and blends softly back to green... hehe

~Zippy!

p.s. anyone else catch that are there two reviews to TT:EE? there are two reviews in 'reviews' section, both with differing opinions (one guy like fotr better than tt, and tt better than tt:ee. the other guy like tt better than fotr, and tt:ee better than tt)

Back when I used to rent, I remember seeing how faded all the video boxes looked in the rows that received direct sunlight.

I can't believe this surprised someone. Sunlight will fade any paper and ink product with enough exposure.

This is why I'm glad I live in my mom and dad's basement no sun light has ever entered here or a woman for that matter so I don't have to worry about her asking to borrow my dvds.

Thanks for the head up!

Luckily, considering my geographical location, I don't really have to worry about it, but it is good to know anyways.

Perhaps one of these days I will experience a real summer (although this last summer was awfully close!).

I get plenty of sun in my area but I put up heavy drapes and my DVDs don't get any direct sunlight.

Luckily, my roommate is a vampire so we are very careful about letting sunlight into the flat.

Same here. I also have big branch in my bedroom, instead of a mattress, and I hang from it upside down. My friends throw fruit at me occasionally to see some really cool tricks with my hands and feet.

I left my boxset in a pail full of hot water and it got a soggy. I'm considering calling New Line and asking for a replacement box also.

My roommate was very interested in that case, until I told him that the caption read "Crap Interior."

I always laugh my ass off when I walk into some Hollywood Video or Blockbuster and they have all of the new DVD sales exposed to direct sunlight and most of the covers are faded.
