I want to buy either Avia Home theater Guide or Digital Video Essentials - Home System Setup and would like to know which is better.

I know DVE is much less expensive, but how much more does Avia do that DVE?

I haven't used either but from what I have read, DVE is "the latest and greatest." Have you searched both this forum and the DVD Talk forum? I am sure there is a thread in one discussing a comparison of the two.

There's a review at DVDTalk comparing the new DVE to AVIA and they recommend DVE.

I say DVE all the way. Cheaper. More up-to-date. Easy to use. I got mine through deepdiscount for like ~$15 if I remember correctly.
