Looked through three pages of thread titles and didn't see anything and can't search on HBO and Oz. Moderator please close if this is a duplicate.

From dvdfile.com:

Last but not least from HBO Home Video is Oz: The Complete Third Season, which hits stores on February 24th. This three-disc set features the short 8-epiosde season in 4:3 full screen and Dolby Digital 5.1, plus extras: audio commentary with creator Tom Fontana and director Chazz Palminteri on the episode "Unnatural Disasters," over 20 minutes of deleted scenes, plus episode previews and recaps. Retail will set you back $64.95.

wow, that's awful - granted, it will probably be cheaper but that seems kinda high - especially since it seems the only series that comes out on DVD slower is the Simpsons :(

Of course, I'll be picking it up though.

I agree. The prices for the Oz series seem unusually high. Not sure what the reason is either. I have season one but just have n't been able to find an acceptable deal on season 2.

Best Buy has been pretty good about discounts for multiple sets purchased. Maybe we'll get lucky and I'll be abel to pick up 2 and 3 for a bigger discount.

I think they price them high because they're not very popular as, say, the Sopranos or SITS. I bought the last two seasons on the release days at Best Buy and I noticed (at least at my local store) they didn't have as many copies as you'd expect. Oz tends to have more of a cult following, moreso as a fanboy-type following as the other HBO series do anyway IMO.

Most of the HBO sets are pricey. "Sopranos" retails for, like $100, with thirteen episodes. Both shows work out to around eight dollars per ep.

I dunno what you're talking about... this is only being released slightly later than most HBO series are released - a season a year. Season 2 was released on 1/7/2003 with a suggested retail price of $64.98. This set is coming out roughly a year later for about the same price with somewhat better extra features.

This is good news and bodes very well for the release of the remaining seasons. Thanks for the info!

Sorry RobCA, didn't see your thread. DVDFile didn't mention about Season 4 either which is more good news.

Very expensive. But I've got the first two and being the completist that I am I will buy this one as well.

Here's a link to the S3 cover-art for those interested:

And while I agree the price is on the high-end for season sets these days... it's 100% worth every penny.

Great cover art for season 3, and I don't care what the price is, I'll buy this in a second. (and judging from the cover, I'll say Hill didn't make it that far in that coffin.)

I was pretty worried that slow sales of season 2 would stop HBO from putting out the rest. At least we have up to season 4 now.

I never followed the show on tv, so I'm new to the series as it comes out on DVD. I have no idea what to expect but I can't wait!

EDIT: Woohoo! I'm now a senior member!
