Thread about Doves (the band)

Did a search and only saw a little post about a release in late September...who's into this band? Any news about a tour in the states? Their website is old old old with no updates on tours. I actually checked the site and got depressed that I missed a show but then realized that like, a year ago this time I'd planned on going to the show -- they don't update around tours. Anyways, I love this band!

The Last Broadcast is great. I don't have their other album, though.

Lost Souls is equal to, if not better than, The Last Broadcast, IMO. Great band! Too bad I don't have much else to say about them other than the fact that both of their albums are really good, atmospheric rock!

I'd love to find some live Doves, but can't find it anywhere I hate when i dig bands that have a small sample size.

I like "Lost Souls" a little more than "Last Broadcast". My fave song is "The Man Who Told Everything". Still haven't received the Canadian R1 DVD from Amazon... grrr!

Check Soulseek. There's plenty of live Doves stuff floating around out there.

It's a peer to peer service. TONS and TONS of live shows are available, and mostly non-mainstream stuff.

Doves are definitely an awesome band, maybe the best band currently flying below radar. Both albums are great, though I think I prefer Lost Souls slightly over The Last Broadcast. Saw them live last summer, it was a great show.

They have a "new" release out, called Lost Sides. It's mostly b-sides and stuff like that. There is also a DVD called Where We're Calling From, I think its music videos.

I've got both albums and love them both, but I tend to listen to The Last Broadcast more than Lost Souls. I still think both albums are far better than a lot of the music I have bought over the last few years. I always love it when I catch some of their stuff on tv shows and in a few movies. I feel like I am in on a secret so many don't know about.

lost souls = top 25 album from the 90's. lost broadcast was not exactly my favorite album, but it was by no means horrible. it lost the rock grooves of their prior effort, and that was slightly disappointing.
