The HKFlix deal is pretty sweet and I'm looking for a progressive scan player anyway. So, which of these machines is preferable? The 50 is only $10 more but the additions might be useless or actually annoying:

WMA Playback - not sure I care about this
DTS Analog 2-Channel Downmix Output - When would this be useful?
Multi-Brand Glow Remote Control - Probably gonna get a universal soon anyway
ultra-slim illuminated cosmetic front panel. - a glowing front panel sounds like an annoying feature more than something enjoyable.

Whaddya think about the players in general and these differences in particular?

Anyone know anything about these? There are a couple of old threads on these and the HKFlix deal has gotta be intriguing to other DVDTalkers...

Get the 50. I bought the 40 to save a few bucks, but the biggest difference is that the 50 is really robust when it comes to playing DVD-R's. The 40 craps out frequently and is real picky when it comes to media.

The remote for the 50 has a couple of more buttons. The glowing panel is worthless, but it doesn't hurt anything overall.

BTW, I now own both. Didn't really save much in the way of money.
