Tivo question, could be really stupid

Is Tivo available to people who live in Canada? I have never seen it in my area ever and a lot of people around her do not even know what it is.

I wouldn't say it's a stupid question, because I certianly had never thought about the availabilty of TiVo in Canada. I always figured it was like a DVD player or VCR that you could buy anywhere.

But it looks like you're SOL. From the FAQ section of TiVo's Web site:

Can I buy a TiVo DVR in Canada?
No. TiVo DVRs are not currently available in Canada. At this time, TiVo DVRs are only available in the United States and in the United Kingdom.
